Coffee Beanery Ocean City — Restaurant in Ocean City

Just bad. Obviously the tourists keep this place alive. Shocked at the 4.5 stars they have because my experience was completely underwhelming. It looks to me as if no adults work here. No experienced personable people work here for sure. First off, the customer service was nonexistent. Once it was time to take my order I approached the counter and the girl just stares at me blankly with no greeting at all, no smile, nothing, just silence and a cold glazed over stare. I order and got the coffees pretty quickly overall. I say “thank you” to the young man who made the coffees and he just looks at me. Great, more blank stares and resentful “baristas” (yes, he heard me and even looked me in the eye). Both coffees were watery and flavorless. I also ordered two sandwiches (1English muffin, egg, and ham / 1 everything bagel with egg and “bacon”). 1 paper thin piece of ham on the first sandwich. One piece of turkey bacon (that looks microwaved) when it’s advertised as regular bacon on the second sandwich.

Back to the lack of customer service, I receive the two sandwiches (which again, have nearly any ham on one and one little piece of turkey bacon instead of regular bacon as advertised on the other). I asked the girl who handed me the sandwiches if she wouldn’t mind grabbing me a cup of water for my two dogs outside. She quickly and with a short tone says “you can get water over there” and points to the water fountain on the wall like I’m in a high school cafeteria and shows me her back. I said “I still need a cup.” Did she expect me to carry the water outside with my hands? I digress. So instead of just grabbing me a cup, once again in a short, cold tone said to me “you can get a cup over there” and points to the order line. So now I’m back in line waiting to get tap water for the dogs. Obviously, it’s on me for not remembering the water until the last moment but she didn’t have to be so rude about it. In short, language barriers everywhere in there, inexperienced, rude workers and garbage coffee. At least the egg and bagel was good....

I wanted an iced Dark Chocolate/White Chocolate mocha, half decaf in a 20oz. No 20oz cups available. And no decaf. They gladly rang me up and I added a tip. The coffee I got was NOTHING like I am used to getting. They apparently can’t do white chocolate in an iced coffee because all they have is powder…that’s what my coffee shop at home uses. Instead of telling me, they substituted Vanilla and said it’s practically the same. Sorry, but no it’s not. And it was very watery. So the lovely girl at the drive thru window did try to melt the white chocolate, but it just wasn’t the same. No milk added. No idea what they were trying to give me, but not a good experience for me. And because they couldn’t refund my money, they said I could substitute a pastry. SMH. Thank goodness it was good…but not going back there. Oh yeah, and to the young man with his ball cap turned backwards….get some manners and show some respect, you were very rude to someone who just wanted a tasty coffee during her vacation. 6/20/23

In response to CB’s response. The pastries were good… not my experience or the coffee. And if you serve decaf, too bad your employees didn’t know. I’m not sure you read my whole review, only what you wanted to read. And no response about the rude “dude” working there. ...

Our order was made wrong twice. Wasted an hour at this place because of wait time. I dont know if our order just kept getting made wrong because we ordered from the drive through? The first time my boyfriends sandwich had under cooked bacon on it. I dont know if its just because its microwaved or premade but its chewy and pink. Hard to bite through. My sandwich was made with no cheese. We went back in line. Waited again. They were very nice and remade us our bagels. We got them back and the bread was wrong for both of our sandwiches. The bacon was still chewy and pink. Whatever we need to go home. Also the drive through menu is so weird… why are there no prices??? Only shows calories?? The prices ended up being fair tho so it wasnt a problem. DO NOT get the bacon. The bagel bread itself was good quality. I recommend u just get a buttered or cream cheese bagel. We got cold brews and theyre good. After reconstructing our bagels with the ingredients we did have, neither of us finished our sandwiches. Seems like they put extra cheese on my bagel after remaking it, compared to my bfs… so ask for extra cheese, it makes...
