Denny's — Restaurant in Ocean City

My experience was so horrible I had to write my first Google review ever! 1. We waited over an hour for a table when they said it was only a half hour ( there were open tables but they weren't seating anyone) 2. Our waitress Hellen was extremely rude from the time we sat down to the time we got up. She kept saying rude comments to me and my cousins ( we were ready to order and she replied " well I'm not " ) I am a server and I know everyone has their bad days and holiday weekends can be crazy but I would never treat my customers the way this lady did. 3. After waiting an additional hour to get our food it came out ICE COLD and there was a hair in my side of sausage that was not even edible. We had to flag down a few people to find our waitress after sitting in front of this horrible food for what seemed like an eternity. She took the sausage back without an apology and took it off the bill after saying " I'll take it off if my manager ever gets off his cell phone I'm about to punch him " I tipped the waitress 20% only because I didn't want the bad karma since I work in the servings industry. As we were leaving we spoke with the manager and you obviously can tell where the problem starts. This manager was unprofessional pretty much trying to blame us for the horrible experience we had and since I told him I was a server it seemed to irritate him even more. He was unapologetic and did not act on the complaint. It wasn't about the 10 dollars he took off our bill it was the simple fact that you can tell this manager will not fix these issues and his poor management skill reflects on this whole diner. Literally the very worst customer service I’ve ever received at any establishment. Made an online order through Uber eats to pick up. Picked up the order, we realized it was missing toast went back and was originally asked to go back to the car to get the order, we informed them that we’d have to walk a bit since there was no parking near, so we were given the toast, great. However we also then realized there was a coffee that was missing when we were back at our hotel. We called and informed the young lady that we were missing a coffee, she apologized and said to hold for the manager. She came back and said I’m sorry she’s busy and that we would need to come back to get the coffee. We informed that we just wanted a refund and would not be able to come back.

She asked for us to hold again and this time she hung up the phone. When we called back there was no response. Luckily Uber eats did refund us. While being busy is understandable, there is no excuse for being too busy for a customer who has received two incorrect orders.

We asked for the steak and eggs and paid extra for caramelized onions WHICH WAS NOT on the steak. We asked for medium well steak. The steak was super flat as pancakes and very rubbery. The French toast we received was made from regular white bread that one would make at home for the kids on the weekend. Terrible experience while on vacation. WORST SERVICE I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED. If i could give less than one star I would. The whole experience was laughable.

When we arrived, there were two four tops seated. The waitress (Sam) saw us and said I’ll be right with you then she proceeded to take the orders of a four-person table and get them drinks and not seat us for 10 minutes to the point where we had to ask her if we could seat ourselves to which she replied I’m the only waitress and I’m just trying to get these people settled and we said we understand however you should seat us and give us menus and sat ourselves. The hostess was cooking and a cook arrived about 15 minutes after our arrival. We knew because the waitress was screaming and hugging the cook, happy he was there. She then came over and apologized and took our order including a milkshake. I heard her make the milkshake and then it sat there for 10 minutes until my husband asked about it she said oh it’s right there and went and brought us the melted milkshake. We had to request a new one. Our food arrived and my sandwich (the free bird) which didn’t include egg on the menu had scrambled eggs on it. Luckily for me I like scrambled eggs so I just ate it.

4 out of 5 of the tables there had issues, complaints or had to get up and find the waitress or get their own drink, napkins etc.

The food was ok at best and the service was literally atrocious. I can’t remember a time ever that I didn’t give a tip...
