General's Kitchen — Restaurant in Ocean City

If I could give a zero I would. We had the absolute WORST service I’ve ever had in ANY restaurant. We walked in around 930am on 5/24 and were seated immediately which was nice. But that’s about the only good thing that happened. Our server was HORRENDOUS. He came over about 5 minutes after we sat down to get drink orders then took another 5-10 minutes to bring 2 coffees and 2 waters. He then came back 10 minutes after that to take our food orders and then we didn’t see him again. We asked for coffee refills in our tiny mugs as he dropped our food off, mind you our coffee mugs had been empty for about 20 minutes at that point. He never brought the refills. Our food was basically diner food, and had no flavor or seasoning. I had the two eggs meal with hash browns and white toast, I never got my toast and the server never came back for me to even ask for my toast. My partner got the chicken fried steak and he ate about half of it because it was not that great. We finished our meal without the server returning to ask if everything was ok, my partner spilled his water and no one came to clean it up or refill his water and we still didn’t have coffee lol. We had to ask a busboy to get our check which took another 5 minutes to get from the server which is when he refilled our coffee. So we paid $3.50 each for about 4 gulps of coffee each because our server couldn’t be bothered to do his job. We then had to wait 10 minutes for him to come back and run our card. We use to go to General's Kitchen all the time when they were in the other location. It was our favorite and we waited in line most times to get in. It was great back then, service was good, hash browns my favorite. Fast forward to today. We walked in and it wasn't busy at all, which had us confused, till we finished. Took quite a while for our server to come. We ordered our food. I got a bacon/swiss/onion omlette with hash browns and rye toast. My daughter and I both wanted our omlettes well done. Food comes out, not well done at all. I kept wondering why mine didn't tasted right, and then realized it was white american cheese, not swiss, which is one of the few cheeses I dislike. I'm surprised I ate it (1/2) but don't like sending things back and then eating alone. We made the mistake of adding onions to our omlettes because they charged $2.00 extra for each. The LARGE soda is about 12 ounces for $3.50 and they charge a $1.00 for refills. We got lucky and the 1 refill my daughter got they didn't charge for. I don't know how a place we use to love so much could be so different, even the hash browns were dry and not the same. We will try something else next time. A very...

We had a very interesting experience. I don't know if maybe it was a racial thing or not the host was rude to my family from the very beginning. He was short with us and obviously didn't listen to us when we told him our name. The host said it would be 30 minutes or more we agree and he tells us we have to stand outside. So far everything seems ok. We'll He comes out 5 minutes later and calls for a "Jeanette" A few times and looks right at me. I don't know who Jeanette is but I feel for her because she missed her table. So apparently after waiting 40 minutes and my family nearly ready to pass out I checked how much longer it would be, and he claims he called her name 35 minutes ago. I walked out my family goes in, nearly in tears to see what happened because we were standing next to the door the entire time. She starting crying from being out in the heat too long and obviously overwhelmed and he points to a table and tells her rudely to go sit. This man never apologized for how he treated us (more importantly how he treated her). The waitress was friendly. The...
