Stopped in for lunch. Not very busy. Whoever it was that greeted us (owner? manager?) literally came flying out to welcome us like long lost friends rather than first time guests. He helped us with the menu, explaining dishes we were not familiar with. When ordering my sandwich, I mentioned that I was not a fan of spicy food. When my meal was served, he said that not only did he leave off the jalapeños, but also made a couple of other modifications that I never would have thought of. The sandwich was incredible!
I have seen servers who’s friendliness was forced or an act, but this gentleman seemed genuinely welcoming and gracious. For a tourist who was just passing through, this was both unexpected and greatly appreciated.
We stumbled onto Hot Mama’s this first time, but I guarantee you that it will be an intentional visit next time we’re in town. Thank you...

Sometimes you find a place that just feels like it was meant to be. For us, that was Hot Mama’s Kitchen. We saved the best for last on our Ocean Shores visit, and I am so deeply glad we did.

They are such warm, gracious people who care deeply about their guests. The thoughtful conversations and the clear pride they take in their work—from the cocktails to the cuisine—made us feel not just like customers, but like welcome friends.

Read moreOur food was terrible. Our entire bill was $291.30 and I still tipped them $25 because they seemed like really nice people. I honestly didn't want to because of how bad our food was but I wanted them to know we still appreciate them trying. Later on at our resort, 3 of us got really sick. I regret taking my family here for Father's day. It was a waste of money. The mango sticky rice is like something a 4 yr old put together. It was really disgusting. I don't even know what that was. Canned mango or peach. My pad Thai tasted like it was made with stale pad Thai noodles. The peas and carrots in the fried rice tasted like freezer burnt veggies. The fries for the fish and chips were overcooked, super crunchy like they were refried or something. If you do go here, I think the only thing I suggest getting is...
