This is our daughter's favorite Mexican restaurant in town. And now for my wife and I, it's our favorite, too. The interior might look a bit dated, but the Mexican food is among the best we've tasted anywhere.
Our friendly server was quick in coming to our table to take our order, and the wait for drinks and food was very reasonable. They serve a great Regular Margarita for $5.99. We've been in some places where the drink cost $2-3 more and was watered down. The tortilla chips were fresh and crisp, the salsas very delicious--with a nice kick to the red salsa. Our daughter ordered a plate of refried beans and cheese which went perfectly with the chips.
Onto the food. If my plate of Carne Asada was not the best I've had, it's up there in the top two. The plate had the biggest serving of grilled skirt steak I've ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. It was incredibly tender and flavorful, checking all the flavor boxes I have for great Carne Asada. The beans and rice were also perfect. I would order it again with our next visit except it must wait until after I order the following dish. And as with the Margarita, the price was amazing, about $4 less than lesser dishes offered by some other Mexican places. Our daughter ordered the Deluxe Enchilada En Mole with chicken. She allowed me to trade a bite for a bite of my Carne Asada. With that one, small taste, the heavens parted and the sun from the best mole sauce I've ever had shone down on me. I made a mole sauce from an Aaron Sanchez recipe that pales in comparison to what I tasted. THAT is the next dish I will order on our return, but make mine beef. My wife had the Enchiladas IV Hermanos with chicken. She said it was very good--but she LOVED the guacamole. Again, among the best she's had. I agree since it came with my dish, too.
This is how you set down roots in a new town. Among those roots are the places you discover that become your favorite places to eat. Our daughter is the one setting down roots since she just moved here. Thanks to those roots, we get to enjoy the fruit from her tree of food...
Read moreThree friends and I were in the area and decided to stop for lunch at Los IV Hermanos.
This is a very popular restaurant and wait times of a couple minutes to 10 minutes are not uncommon!
I think the food is worth the wait though. I have been to this restaurant three times over the last few years. Every time I'm in Ocean Shores I usually stop here at least once.
We had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated, not too terribly long. Once we were seated we were promptly waited on by our server and we placed our orders right away.
I ordered the Fajita Burrito with chicken and an iced tea for my beverage. I enjoyed to meal very much. The burrito was filled with chicken and some rice with the usual fajita veggies.
While dining on my meal and talking with my friends I noticed the dessert display card and decided I would order the cheesecake for dessert.
The cheesecake was very nice! My only complaint would be that the blueberry topping was four or five shriveled berries .
Unfortunately, a couple of my friends had some issues with their service. One friend's meal was supposed to include refried beans and there wasn't any. When he complained twice he was assured, both times by different staff, that they would check on his beans, neither one of those staff members ever returned. Another friend had asked for another margarita and was never served with the second margarita.
I'm sure those issues were caused by the staff being run ragged by a full house, but it put a blemish on an otherwise...

The service was excellent! It's not a fancy place and I felt like a midget in my booth lol..they really need new be chest but how can they survive when no one can even come in because of parking? One WOULD think they were packed and if not as persistent as I go somewhere else. These poor people. It was the best tortilla soup ever ! Everything was sooo good and the heat wS not over powering in anything but I do like a little spice but it was perfect..hot but just enough so could enjoy my food. I will definitely be back!
