What a cute place! In the strip mall on Washington in downtown, this lovely little bakery looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but contains such delights! I stopped in yesterday. Despite the weather being rainy and dreary outside, the place was bustling inside. Fortunately, there are plenty of places to sit.
The barista offered a friendly greeting and was patient while I made up my mind. It was difficult to decide because everything in the case was prepared so beautifully! I ordered a brown sugar cinnamon latte, sausage and tomato quiche, and a fruit tart.
The coffee: a not-too-acidic espresso complemented by just enough syrup to make it sweet, but not so much as to be cloying. Perfect foam atop the steamed milk!
The crust on the quiche was thin and crisp. The filling was creamy and flavorful...savory sausage combined with well-seasoned eggs and just enough tomato to keep the texture interesting all baked until set with a golden brown top.
The fruit tart was truly a sight to behold! Such an elegant little display of orange, blueberry, blackberry, and strawberry top a creamy lemon-filled tart. The crust was buttery and just sturdy enough to hold everything together, but still melt in the mouth.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will...
Read moreCame in for the first time (lived here for years) bought macarons and a cheese cake. None of the items had prices or descriptions & the person at the counter seemed short/rushed despite no line and everyone being seated (other customers) & calm for a late Saturday. The macaroons were dry, crumbled as if old & with a the exception of the PB flavored ones, all tasted the same/underwhelming. (Macaroons are a fav of mine so this was pretty disappointing) They cost $2.00 a not very good. The cheese cake however was very good but I'm unsure what it was since there was no description. (Important for people with allergies & an overall easier/hassle free shopping experience for employees and customers) When I asked the person at the counter what it was she quickly named it & seemed annoyed. I asked if there was something I could read that had the description/names and or pricing for future visits since I didn't want to take up more time and was told there was not anything I could view. I know a few people who have purchased cakes for special occasions here & enjoyed them but for their day to day it's not all that it's hyped up to be. I was pretty disappointed overall & hope that maybe this was just an off...
Read moreMy son was so excited to try the viral fruit dessert and the Labubu! The presentation was absolutely adorable, and we were really looking forward to it. However, the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the customer service.
When I called to ask a question about the Labubu (I had thought it was chocolate, but learned it’s actually cheese), the person who answered sounded annoyed, which caught me off guard. Once we arrived, we weren’t greeted, and the staff member behind the counter appeared visibly unhappy. He spoke so quietly that I had to ask him to repeat himself several times, and there was little to no interaction during the process. He even walked away while I was checking out, which felt dismissive—especially considering the store wasn’t busy, with just one table already served and the dessert case fully stocked.
I really wanted to love this place for my son’s sake, and while the treats were cute, the service left a lot to be desired. With such a fun concept, I hope the customer experience can match the charm of the desserts in the future.
I would also love to know what cheese the Labubu is, it is a wiggly-jello consistency and has no flavor.. very odd, my dog wouldn’t...
