I came in here to enjoy a coffee, trying new coffee shops in the area, and they called the police on me! I’ll redact specifically what the policeman shared with me, except that he said he doesn’t know why they called. These people should be absolutely ashamed of themselves, and I will NEVER come back here to this bigoted place again. I will also Not include their coffee cup in my coffee cup collage, nor in my highly-anticipated coffee shops on the coast review.
When dealing with strangers, you should approach them like decent human beings and ask them how their day is going or how the coffee is. That is when you can assess the situation: if I give off negative vibes like I’m up to no good, that’s the time you can see it and have reason to call the police, but you didn’t even engage me, and I was completely minding my own business.
I even asked the lady at the counter when I ordered, considerate that the place might only be open to residents since it’s in what appears to be an apartment complex, as I didn’t know where the business was located when I looked it up—I was just looking for a decent coffee shop and found it on the map—I asked her if I could buy a coffee here, and she said very politely that yes I can, and I felt welcomed and that I was not intruding because of the residential location. We even joked that their system already sent me a receipt because I already used the same system to buy something else, even though I hadn’t been here before.
And then you call the police on me! On my way out, a policeman walks in and looks around, and I’m on my way out. I see he points to me, asking them if I’m the one, and they must have nodded yes—there were like three people there, whom I had ‘No’ negative interactions with, and I paid them no attention—and he stops me and sternly orders me outside. Asks if I have everything before I leave. I’m thinking what the heck is he thinking I did?? Before I give him my ID he asks if I have any weapons on me, and I say no. He asks what I’m doing here. I said I’m just visiting the local area on my off-time. Like I didn’t know it was suspicious to walk into a coffee shop and buy their products.
For my review of your coffee, of the 28 coffee shops on the coast I have reviewed, I wrote, “Supposed to be dark but very light tasting, ehh.” It was terribly overpriced. I paid an exorbitant price of $6.92 for your coffee, and I liked it the least of all the coffee shops I have reviewed. I did not like it. I very much regret giving you $6.92 for that coffee. It was certainly not worth this bigoted experience, and I was too disgusted to finish your coffee. I poured it out and threw the cup away. I did not keep your cup. I told the lady at the counter that I like to collect coffee cups. But now, I am not collecting yours.
So, customers beware of this place. They will assume ill of you because they are prejudiced people. I still have ‘No’ idea why they called the police on me. I just wanted to enjoy visiting the city as a non-local with a cup of coffee on my off-time, and now I have this prejudiced experience to remember this awful place by. I’ve dined in at ‘hundreds’ upon ‘hundreds’ of establishments, and I’ve never been treated this way, ‘completely’ minding my own business, not paying anyone any attention. I walked in, ordered a coffee, sat down, and drank it while reading the news on my phone. Like did I gesture anything threatening toward the staff?? No!! Check your overpriced camera footage. What did I do?? 🤷♂️
I have no idea, but you guys don’t deserve to receive anyone’s money, and I will NEVER come...
Read moreI’m all about supporting a local business and working remotely, I’m always looking for good coffee shops to break up the monotony of working from home. The Coffee Vineyard is a yet to be discovered gem with delicious house coffee, a gorgeous space, and honestly one of the best almond croissants I’ve had in years. Perfectly flaky, shatters in your mouth, not too sweet and marzipan-y. The a black coffee or vanilla latte are my tests for any coffee shop to see what kind of care is put into the drinks crafted there and I was satisfied! Definitely a great place to gather, hang out, and BONUS points cause they are open later than 5PM. If you need a clean, cozy, stylish place with solid WiFi to get away for a moment, this is the place to be.
Also I believe they have wine? Gotta love the kind of cafe where you can...
Read moreSo excited for this new addition to Inlet Condos! I popped by today to check it out and ordered iced coffees to go 🧊 ☕️. They were PERFECT! So smooth and none of the acidic after taste you sometimes get with iced coffee. I met the owner and he told me the amazing flavor comes from the Nicaraguan coffee beans they use.
Turns out the soft opening is actually tomorrow, but they were still more than happy to make my iced coffees to go. Go check it out!
I can’t wait to go back in the evening to try their wine offerings! Love that Ocean Springs now has coffee & wine together in...
