First and foremost, I have to say the food was delicious!! As you can see from the photo, I had black beans, shrimp, rice and I guess it's like a salad. It was so good, I can't stress that enough. The reason why I did not give it a full five stars is only because of the service. So the cashier is very attentive as soon as you walk in. However there was a Spanish woman next to him on her phone, a video call. There must have been a small child on the phone as this woman was loud, very loud distracting the cashier, then gave the phone to the cashier to engage in the conversation in Spanish and very loud. I did not know what her purpose was at the counter she did pretty much nothing, idk maybe her job was the distractor. So the cashier was also extremely loud and he likes to sing, perhaps he has some challenges, which I have to assume as I haven't seen behavior like that - he also needs a uniform., the culinary team had on their chef coats. At one point it appeared that he was tired and he put his head down on the counter for a while. At another point they were horsing around and he ended up chasing the Spanish girl back to the kitchen. I say all of this to say that food is great, he could use service training AND supervision. The Spanish girl should just go in the back or something and fold paper towels???
Overall it was a great place, next time I go perhaps it's just take out so I don't have to experience that. (Luckily I put on my earphones) Oh one more thing I went there for poke and I like to select my own ingredients, that wasn't the case. I didnt see a Poke menu. The operation is ran more like Wonder, a dining hall with multiple restaurants under one roof but kudos to the cooks and chef they are excellent..the food was...
Read moreI was super hyped for trying this place ever since a delicious meal at the original Bombay river location in Red Bank, but sadly it's left me underwhelmed and confused.
I chose Thai for dinner and also picked up some indian for the following day. The pad kee Mao I would put as a 2 on a scale from 1 to 5. While the flavor was okay, there just wasn't nearly enough of it. Very dry with not a speck of sauce in the container, I had to hold back from adding salt to make it taste like something.
For Indian, the Tikka masala is what left me really confused, and is what I have pictured here. Either this is the dryest Tikka I've ever had of this, or (more likely) they gave me the wrong dish. Since there were onions, I'm thinking they accidently gave me tandoori chicken instead. I was expecting to have some sauce to dip my Naan into, but there wasn't even enough sauce to mix the rice in with. Again, a very dry dish, which seemed to be the theme of my experience.
I felt so much excitement in finally coming here. The concept is amazing, I love the windows into the kitchen, the staff was so so friendly (shout out to my girl Susie - she's awesome!!), and the portions of food are generous given the reasonable prices. Unfortunately, when it came to the actual taste of the food, this was a pretty disappointing experience.
Since I seem to be in the vast minority of other reviewers on that, I'm willing to give it another shot. Maybe the kitchen was having a tough day? Either way, cheers to all the folks that are putting their heart into this. I want to love it. Please please give me some tastier food next time, and I promise you will have 4 new...
Read moreMy husband and I came to this restaurant. As first-time patrons, we will not be back! The food was overpriced. I ordered samosa from the Indiyas Indian menu, and they were priced at $3.75 a piece. We asked the cashier/ waitress how many do you get before ordering, and she advised us they come in three's. The menu did not dispay the number of Somosa received. So we trusted what she said! We'll she definitely lied to us because when we got the order for take out, there were only two samosa. I dont like dishonesty. When the cashier gave us the order, the bag was stapled shut. I opened the brown bag and checked our order before we left. We then asked for our money back for the somosa, and she gave us a hard time with that! She called her manager telling lies and said that we touched the food, which was untrue. We just opened the lid to check the food. She finally gave us the refund. Nevertheless, the cubby waitress is also nosey and very unprofessional. While we were waiting for our food, my husband stepped out to get something from the store. She started asking me where he was at, which was none of her business, not sure why she cared. Not to mention, my husband ordered the chicken bowl from Mi Casa Tu Casa Mexican and the food was not good, very bland, and made my husband sick the next day. I'm not sure how this place stays open with eight different restaurants and one group of cooks, cooking all of the supposedly authentic dishes. That...
