I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience with your establishment.
Approximately two days ago, I placed an order for a Greek salad with chicken, requesting light dressing and no tomatoes. I live about 30 minutes away, and upon arriving home, I was surprised to find the order completely incorrect. The salad had barely any chicken, no feta, and the greens were dried out—certainly not what I expected for a $21 meal.
I immediately called the restaurant, and a staff member was courteous and understanding. They offered me either a credit or a replacement salad, which I appreciated.
However, when I followed up today to request a refund, I spoke with the manager, Kelly, and was extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled. From the beginning of the conversation, her tone was rude and dismissive. She abruptly stated, "No, you're not getting credit. You’ll get another salad. I’m the manager—I don’t know who told you otherwise."
The approach taken during that call was completely unprofessional and lacked basic customer service etiquette. Kelly then told me I would only receive $12.50 back, stating, “Because you ate the chicken,” which was shocking given I had clearly mentioned there was barely any chicken to begin with. Despite that, I politely said I would come by to pick up the partial refund.
To make matters worse, she ended the call with a sarcastic “Have a good day” and hung up.
This experience has left me very upset and disappointed in how your business handles customer concerns. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the importance of respectful and professional communication with your customers...
Read moreHonestly, I wasn’t gonna leave a comment but last night while having Greek Easter with my family, I told him about my experience here and apparently they have all had bad experiences or the food is just not up to par so I’ve decided to share my experience. I placed a pick up order after working all day & when I get back into town I go straight there. When I get home I realized they did not give me what I ordered. I proceeded to call and finally after 10 min on hold the woman gets on the phone and says what’s the problem I said I ordered pastichio but I got moussaka instead. She the says to me “HOW DO YOU KNOW”? I said I know what I ordered and proceeded to read off my receipt to her. Once again she states how do you know it’s wrong? I said well I’m Greek & I’ve been eating and cooking this food my entire life. She replied with “oh why didn’t you say you were Greek? Do you speak Greek?” At this point I’m beyond mad because what does me being Greek have to do with anything? I said I just want what I ordered she tells me to come in and get it. I bring back the wrong food and she exchanges it for me. Not even a I’m sorry, nor did she offer anything for my I’m Inconvenience of me coming all the way back, not even a friendly smile. How many times are you giving people the wrong food just because they don’t know any better? I should not have to announce my nationality before ordering food to make sure it...
Read moreThe Greek Spot makes Greek food and hospitality shine!
To all Monmouth University parents:
If you’re concerned about your children not eating enough healthy and delicious food, The Greek Spot solves all that.
Kalliope and her staff always give my son, Giovanni, and his friends from Monmouth a warm welcome. My husband and I have been able to experience that firsthand.
This place is clean, cozy and serves up authentic Greek food consistently. The chicken souvlaki platter is the ultimate best value and it’s such a generous portion! They have a grill master that serves up moist chicken kabobs every time! We opt for spinach rice as a side often, and it’s quite flavorful. The tzatziki is creamy and tangy. Completes the perfect bite!
The beef and lamb gyro platter is also great! A side salad is included with entree platters, and it’s always fresh.
On our most recent visit, we tried the dolmas. I’ve never had them warm before, and they were so good!
For Giovanni, when he’s had enough of Dining Hall food, he makes his way to The Greek Spot. It always delivers a scrumptious meal that’s easy on the wallet.
Thank you to Kalliope and her staff! We wish them continued success, and we hope to...
