I have been coming to Rockstar for about a year solely based on the fact itâs a 1 minute drive from my office, but after my most recent visit I will never be back. To start I had to wait almost 30 minutes for my appointment to start, so I was just getting seated around 545 for a 515 appointment time. While I was waiting I asked SEVERAL TIMES if someone was able to start soaking my APRES GEL nail extensions off and was told only some of the workers knew how to remove tips so I would have to wait. I explained SEVERAL TIMES that my extensions were completely soak off and I just needed someone to wrap my fingers while I waited to cut down on time but was told no I had to wait for a specific person. Then after my extremely short and underwhelming $50 pedicure they started trying to DRILL OFF my completely soak off gel extensions. I explained these DONT need to be drilled off and it will take longer to keep trying to get them off with a drill because theyâre actually gel and held on with gel. I have removed these extensions myself at home before and it has taken me less than 30 minutes with no tools, just acetone. After trying to drill off the extensions and cutting down my nails for over 45 minutes, and having several people coming over to see what the issue was, the nail tech FINALLY agreed to try soaking them off while she fixed one of my broken nails (with a tip that is already lifting 2 days later). The acetone removed the extensions easily and the nail tech and the receptionist who was the person who originally told me I could not soak my nails while waiting did not even apologize. At this point I had been there for over 2 hours and was the only person left in the salon. I was beyond agitated and had no patience to actually get a full set or have the nail tech shape my nails. She didnât even do 3 coats of polish (I got jelly sheer polish which needs to be applied with 3 coats or it appears uneven) I take extremely good care of my nails and have so much pride in them and this was the absolute worst manicure experience of my life. I had to make another appointment for Wednesday at a different RELIABLE salon to get them fixed because my birthday is this coming weekend and I donât even feel like myself with my nails looking so terrible. All in all, I was in the salon for OVER 3 HOURS and was never apologized to and when I went to the counter to pay my total was $114. I am in complete shock that I was charged for this terrible manicure. I am NEVER one to complain about prices but the service I received was BEYOND awful and am shocked I was charged for it. After coming here biweekly for about a year I will never be back. This isnât the first bad experience I had here either. The staff is rude and will completely disregard your requests as a customer. The only good thing about this place is Jason the...
Read moreSince the manager responded to my post, I felt the need to clarify a few things about my experience with Rockstar Nails.
I have been a customer at Rockstar Nails a few times since they opened as I live down the street! I was excited when my friend gifted me a $50 gift card for Mother's Day so that I could treat myself to a spa pedicure. Since my friend lives up north, she bought the gift card over the phone and was assured it would not be an issue for me to receive. Well, to make a long story short, it was. I was told by one of the employees that they had an issue with selling gift cards over the phone so they don't sell them anymore.
In response to the manager saying that my friend should have gotten instructions about the gift card, she did. She was told repeatedly not to worry because it would not be an issue for me to receive the gift card. Again, the 2 employees from Rockstar Nails told me that there was an issue with selling gift cards during Motherâs Day. So while the business may not sell gift cards over the phone any more, they absolutely did in May of 2021. The manager decided to call my friend and I liars instead of admitting their issues and honoring the $50 gift card that was purchased over the phone.
I was then told that if I showed my friends credit card statement that they could work it out. So I went back the next day with the credit card statement and was told that they never sell gift cards over the phone. And that the credit card statement shows that she probably got the service. So after being lied to by the manager and then called a liar myself, I decided that I will never step foot at this nail salon again. As much as I would have loved a pedicure, I'm more upset that my friend was charged for nothing. If you're interested in purchasing a gift card for a loved one or a new mom, save yourself a headache and go elsewhere!
In response to the manager, I am disappointed and deterred from using your services. I will never step foot into your place of business again. I do not react well to lies or scams. Some may think this review is petty. I think itâs important to make others aware of the poor experience I went through so that it doesnât...
Read moreIâve only been here a total of three times and today will be my last. I kept trying to give this place a chance but 3 unfortunate manicures puts a strike in it for me. Last week I had a dip powdered manicure done. The lady who did my nails, although was very kind, did not do the best of job. 4 days in, my manicure began to crack and chip off. My nails were not filed properly so some of them looked chunkier than others. I paid $55 plus gave a generous tip for my manicure to not even last a week. Today I called to see if they would just remove the manicure because my nails looked awful. I inform them my nails has cracks right through the dip powder and was chipped beyond understanding. I asked for my manicure to be removed as I was tired of looking at how awful my nails looked. I was informed because I missed the window to have my my nailed fixed they would have to charge me $15 for remove my manicure. Upon arrival I informed the front desk that I unhappy that I had to pay extra for removing a manicure that should have lasted at least 2 weeks. It lasted 4 days. I showed them my nailed and where all the cracks and chipped edges were. They said âWell that is our policyâ. I wouldnât have had an issue if they tired be more accommodating and offered a partial refund. Itâs not like they wouldnât have made the money back, with the volume they clearly can handle. But they only offered to charge me more, and then they informed me they could redo my nails for 50% off! Why would I pay again to have my nails done when they werenât done the right way the first time? Even at half off thatâs an unacceptable offer. I work very hard for my money, and I paid $55 plus a generous tip for a manicure that I then paid to remove. I didnât not get the service I paid for. I minds well have taken the cash I paid and held it right to the flame on my stove top. I will not be returning to this location. And upon reading other reviews with similar issues, Iâm not the only one who will not...
