Ok so I gotta say, anyone who’s given this place less than 5 stars needs to take off their Karen hat or put down the crack pipe. This pizza is absolutely incredible. The staff were incredibly friendly and the pizza was superb. Complaints about having to wait and blah blah blah timing and hours. Just be quiet. You know what?
. Good pizza has high demand. You don’t want to wait for two hours on a Friday night in August for the best pizza around; here’s a tip: go down the frozen aisle and grab yourself a red baron or Ellios. These guys are in high demand and don’t need to kill themselves to make every weekend warrior happy. The moment my lips touched the pizza I think I saw Jesus. He was playing a harmonica and walking down Atlantic Avenue. It could have been a homeless dude, but it also could have been the son of the father. (He was heading towards the sketchy smoke shop on foot that sells Kratom). I digress, either way there was a magical melody in my mouth as I tore into my first bite. Zero flop, great undercarriage, slightly sweet sauce, and unlike many places around here, they hold off on having a seizure and dumping an entire quart of cheese on the Za. Good balance, good bread, good sauce, good cheese. 8.6. That’s a review.

A lot of hype for Amato's, with good reason. Amato's opens up later in the day so if you're wanting it for a timely dinner, either place an order online the day before, or roll the dice calling in! Increase your odds of prompt pizza by showing up in person. The pizza was a little thicker than a New York slice, the sauce was tasty and cheese perfect. We also got the pepperoni rolls. Both the 16" pizzas and 2 pepperoni rolls were completely devoured in no time. First time getting Amato's, and now a new favorite pizza in Bethany. If you want to try it, plan ahead by ordering the day before or get there in person then they open. 🍕 đŸ”„

This pizza is a solid 7.5/10 the pizza isn’t really cheesy or saucy. Which ok fine, Italian pizza doesn’t really have that but I had very high expectations for this. The sauce for the pepperoni bites was amazing and fresh, 10/10 but the pepperoni bites themselves were also pretty good, 8/10. I would recommend this authentic Italian restaurant if you want authentic Italian. Don’t recommend if you’ve got little American critters who are used to cheese and grease. Each pizza was 20$ (just regular cheese)

It is not easy writing this, however my entire experience with this Pizzeria was disappointing.

I called in to order a small cheese pizza, I was asked what type of crust thin or thick crust . I ordered the thick. I arrived to pick up a plain cheese pizza. Expecting to pay 16.00 small pizza. I was charged 25.00 They were quick to justify the higher cost for thick crust, “we use pound of dough" . The owner Guissepe -Pizza maker brought out the Thick crust -deep dish -Sicilian pizza. I opened box, and saw the pie was clearly overcooked, burnt on the bottom and around edges. The dough was hard and dense. They challenged my observation by saying, "this is how we serve it." I shared my expertise as a celebrity chef and previous restauranteur, I owned a 200 seat Italian Restaurant with a Sicilian partner from Sicily for 15 years. This pizza was NOT acceptable Sicilian pizza . I asked for a regular cheese pizza, he said "we are out of dough" He was short and defensive. He and his staff basically blew off the burnt pizza off"to this is how we do our thick crust pizza, " if we cooked it less it would be par baked. I tried to explain that main difference between Regular New York style pizza and Sicilian pizza is the handling of the dough. Sicilian dough is left to rise after it's stretched into the pan, resulting in a "fluffier crust". This crust was hard and dense, literally a pound of dough that was not adequately prepped ,the color was off dark yellow. Not once was there any accountability from the owner or staff. They Basically just wanted to close , refused to provide a refund or apology . This pizza was clearly not edible, and the lack of accountability was profoundly disturbing. Imagine being out numbered by 3 , not one of those employees or owner admit the glaring facts, they did not offer to return my money or offer me a new pizza ! Poor customer service, ( highly suggest " service that sells course") poor pizza craftsmanship.. ( recommend they hire a expert) I posted the pizza pics, you decide, this is what they call " Thick crust, deep dish -Sicilian Pizza ...

This wasn't just a surreal experience, the pizza was...

Was really hankering for a true Sicilian pizza ! Have been in the Sussex county area of Delaware on a permanent basis for the past 2 years due to family hardships . Am here in Long Neck area and have been absolutely pizza deficient! Growing up in Philly and loving NewYork style thin crust and then have been some what of a Sicilian pizza afficenato and always choosing that as my go to pie for all special events but only a good one ! It has been almost nonexistent for me for these past two years . I came upon Amato’s and read the background then saw that Sicilian pizzas must be pre ordered and thought maybe I was on to something different that I was looking for . I called the number and talked to the male that answered the phone and he told me he had put a lot of research in perfecting the perfect Sicilian pie that was the reason for preordering . I thought this is the perfect place to finally find the pie I was looking for ! I ordered of course for the Eagles NFC Championship game against the 49’ers and got there at exactly 2pm a 35 minute drive from my house. Half pepperoni and mushroom the other half spinach. Showed up at exactly 2 pm when the most pleasant young woman was lighting the open light and my wife and I walked in to the most immaculate pizzeria that we have ever been in ! WOW the place was awesome! My wife and I spoke with the husband and wife who owned the place and what a wonderful experience started from there . What a wonderful couple who seemed to love every thing they were doing. Long story shorter the Absolute best Sicilian pie we have ever eaten! Wow Kudos to Joe and wife he has 2 life long customers plus...

The Sicilian Pizza That Changed My Life (Or at Least My Waistline)

I ordered a Sicilian pizza expecting a nice, reasonable meal. What I got instead was a thick, cheesy brick of joy that may or may not require a construction permit to lift. This pizza isn’t just food—it’s a commitment. One bite in, and I felt like I needed to sign a lease because I was moving in.

The crust? A perfect golden cloud of carbs, crisp on the outside, soft and pillowy inside—like it had been baked in heaven’s oven by angels who trained in Naples. The sauce? A beautiful, tangy masterpiece that had just the right amount of garlic to ensure no vampires (or close-talking coworkers) would come near me for days. The cheese? Oh, the cheese. If there was an Olympic event for cheese pull length, this pizza would take home the gold.

By slice number three, I was seriously considering my life choices. By slice number five, I was bargaining with the pizza, promising to run a marathon if it would just let me finish. But did I stop? Of course not. I powered through like a true champion, fueled by dough, determination, and delicious regret.

Final verdict: 10/10, would absolutely risk a food coma again. If you need me, I’ll be napping this off—probably until...
