Denny's — Restaurant in Oceanside

My wife & I had a super nice experience at the College Blvd. Denny's, on 5/21/23.

This was the first time I've ever eaten at this restaurant location & it renewed my faith in Denny's food, which I used to love. After quite a few less than pleasant meals at other Denny's locations, usually on road trips or vacations, we just stopped going to any Denny's Restaurant.

This a.m., we were getting some much-needed new tires on my SUV, at Wal-Mart, on College, in Oceanside. We figured we'd grab breakfast at this Denny's, right after dropping off the ride, for new shoes. So happy we did!

My wife likes the "Moons Over My Hammy," meal, & she has a pretty solid sense of what's good, as she's an excellent cook, in her own right. So...we ordered 2 of 'em. This breakfast meal featured 2 perfectly grilled sourdough sandwiches, loaded with lots of savory ham, plus an equally generous amount of light & fluffy scrambled eggs, with American Cheese oozing down the sides of each rather impressive sandwich. Accompanying the 2 sandwiches on the plate, were some golden brown & pretty hash browns.

Our server was right there, when we needed her. First she brought us 2 glasses of ice water, & I also asked for a regular cup of coffee. The regular coffee tasted rich, & was steaming hot. Our server was speedy bringing our drinks to the table , and she was friendly, as well. Her smile was genuine, & I liked how our brekky was starting out.

Our Moons Over My Hammy plates came out fairly quickly, & they almost looked too good to eat...seriously!

But, eat we did. The sourdough was a lovely golden brown & couldn't have been grilled any better. Everything tasted amazing. Neither of us could finish both sandwiches, because we were full, after the first one. We each ended up eating 1 whole My Hammy Sand, plus both of us polished off our hash browns.

We ended up taking 2 of these breakfast sandwiches home, for tomorrow.

It was an amazing-tasting breakfast, we both had, & this Denny's is nicely- decorated & modern looking inside. The outside grounds had some pretty red Geraniums planted in the beds, plus there are some red, as well as white, rose bushes planted outside, a nice touch!

I will most certainly come back to this...

I CANNOT believe this place is still open! Our table was dirty, the high chair was dirty and didn't even have a strap to buckle him in, none of our food came out at the same time (it was spread out over an HOUR), my younger son's pizza was cut with a dirty knife (there was avocado on the crust), his plate was dirty (lettuce and avocado stuck to the side/bottom... and he didn't have avocado or lettuce in his meal), his pizza was clearly microwaved, if I wanted that I'd have gone to walmart and gotten him a $1 pizza and microwaved it myself, half of it was so over done that it was rock hard and the other half seemed under cooked.. the cheese wasn't even close to being melted, his grapes were starting to rot, my chicken sandwich had some of the skin still left on and parts of it were GRAY, my husband's meal came out 20 minutes after everyone else's at the table had been delivered.. but don't worry! they brought out one of his two pieces of bread to hold him over, how thoughtful!, my older son's vegetables were wilted. We could hear the cooks/waitresses screaming at each other about messed up orders. A Lot of people just got up and left unhappy... that should have been a sign. We will NEVER go back and are urging our friends/family to dine elsewhere. I can only think this place is still open because there are a lot of one-time-diners that don't know how bad it really is and then never go back, so keep thriving on the unsuspecting, good plan and good job!

Jeremiah greeted us with a smile and a pleasant atmosphere while seated us. Supatra has been our waitress for months, she is very pleasant, even has our breakfast on order as see notices us driving up before we enter. Supatra greets us with a welcome smile that always makes our morning start on the right foot. She always makes sure our food is excellent and just the way we like it. Her personality is wonderful, always having a pleasant attitude. She is attention to detail, even cheering our spirits up when a little down. Also, your manager, Randy is real professional. She keeps the atmosphere at Dennys positive, always has her employees working in harmony, even leads for her hands on while always helping serving food, coffee, seating customers, checking them out at register with a warm smile. Even all the busboys are working smoothly to clean tables and even serving coffee when a customer is running low. My wife and I feel that we have found our second home at Dennys. Also, I might add, the floors, tables, bathrooms, and all of inside Dennys is always immaculate. We love everyone there. Thank you....
