The Privateer Marketplace & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Oceanside

Came for the comedy show, had a good time. $15 minimum food/drink order for entry, which is fine.

Food was good, everyone had burgers. The hamburger buns were dry and flaky, they fell apart as soon as we picked up the burgers. Fries were nice and crispy.

Hard ciders were fantastic, especially the pineapple. Thought the draft beer was a bit overpriced compared to most, but it tasted good.

Waitresses were friendly and attentive, but also very forgetful. We had to ask for our drinks a few times as she brought out one thing or another. Cashing out was difficult too, we ended up just getting up to give our card to the bartender. No one came by for 10+ minutes after the show ended to even ask.

Not a fan of the fact that they automatically charge 18% gratuity, then tax it on top of your subtotal. Rubbed me the wrong way. I’m ok to be automatically charged gratuity, but to also tax it? No thanks.

Place has good food & wine for a fair price. We go to this restaurant often. The only problem I have was, I had the fish tacos the other day and there was a good sized thick piece of hard plastic in my food that when I bit down into my food it loosened my bridge. I told the manager and he took my number & email but I still have not received a call from the owner yet, which is why only 3 stars. Unfortunately, the owner just ignored this incident, but I have an appointment with the dentist to get xrays and evaluation of what needs to be done to fix the problem and then I will be forwarding the bill to the owner of whatever...

I enjoyed eating indoor on the cool winter evening. Our server was nice, friendly and checked up on us often. The service was real great and food was delicious and fresh. Everyone eating inside was 6+ feet apart. Most people were dinning out in the patio. This was my first time theren I was very happy with everything and enjoy the environment. I saw them cleaning and sensitizing tables and chairs. And people were wearing their face mask. Will visit again when I am in...
