I first tried Jeff’s about a month ago when a coworker brought in a variety for our office. I loved it so i decided to go back today. I ordered a plain bagel with strawberry and plain cream cheese. I’m kind of picky about strawberry cream cheese but their’s is perfect for my liking! Bagels are super soft, decent in size, and reasonably priced. They even have an app for ordering ahead which is designed really well.
I didn’t get a great look at the place but it is a smaller like coffee shop kind of set up and based on where the counter is for ordering and pick up, it can feel rather crowded kind of easily.
Customer service, however is iffy.. When I walked in, no one greeted me, said “good morning” or “welcome.” I stood at the pick up counter for at least 3-5 minutes before anyone found it necessary to acknowledge me and ask for a name for the order. The first person at the counter helped 2 guests that were ahead of me, then continued to work blindly as I stepped up to the counter. The same employee then almost handed me a 3rd customer’s order by accident and I pulled my hand back after hearing the name wasn’t mine and she. (the worker) goes “Oh yea I was gonna say, “you’re not customer’s name wait.” casually chuckles it off and proceeds to STILL not ask for my name or order information……..This employee then went to trade places with another girl (I think Victoria was her name) who then asked me for the name on my order and began to look for it. When she could not find it (it was out of her reach/view), the other employee who was ignoring me originally, helped Victoria find my order and handed it to me. I said “Thank you” and the employee goes “yep” ?????
Kinda uncomfortable situation and I wish they offered curbside and delivery options because I’d honestly rather not go inside again. I was the only person of color out of the 3 other customers and 3 employees that I saw and I would not put it past anyone that this would be the reason I was conveniently “overlooked” for so long when I could have been in and out in seconds, had someone simply...
Read moreI’m sorry but I don't get it. I love bagels. I grew up always eating bagels with my dad who was from Brooklyn. I came here happy to try a new bagel place and was really dissatisfied. The taste is OK but the real issue for me was the ridiculous price for bread and spread essentially. I cant justify paying $9 for two bagels not even toasted and SIDES of cream cheese. They don't even put the spread on the bagel for you. Brooklyn water bagel does. Einstein bagel does. Shoot, even Dunkin' donuts does. For $9 for2 bagels and spread and to not even have the bagel prepared and toasted is ridiculous. The spread I got was chive and onion and when I tell you the chunks of onion were so big it was disgusting. It looked lazily made.On top of that the cashier lady was training an employee at the register and proceeded to ignore my husband and I for 5 minutes before directing her attention to us. The place is SMALL. Its hard to miss anyone coming in. They also have 4-5 employees at the front in a really small establishment making it feel overwhelming and cluttered, and none of those 5 employees greeted us as we walked im. Glad I at least tried to steer people away. Unacceptable to call yourselves "NY style bagel" and that is how you...
Read moreDon’t let the negative reviews fool you — Jeff’s is the best bagel in Orlando. You don’t need my 5 star review to tell you that, you need to just drive by a location and try to find a parking spot. This is why Jeff always say a “don’t sleep in!” because people love them this much!
Personally, I can never eat a bagel from other bagel spots in town after eating a Jeff’s. I was initially thrown off by them not being toasted, but having a warm bagel fresh out of the oven AND having the ability to control how much cream cheese you want on it? Nothing beats it. The flavors, both the regular ones and the BOTD (bagel of the day) flavors are awesome. The cream cheeses? Some of the best I have ever had. The coffee? Awesome and locally made. The customer service has always been great. I am so happy to see a spot that does something (bagels!) so well and expand all over central FL, especially when we are sadly seeing so many small businesses struggling and closing.
I am sure it is frustrating not having your expectations met, but I encourage folks to keep an open mind when trying a new place and saying “it’s not for me” when it doesn’t meet those...
