First time finally having Texas Roadhouse and I was not impressed given all the hype I have heard over the years about this restaurant chain.
The parking lot is small for their volume so you may need to park next-door at the dental office or Bank of America, but that was no problem.
The tables are a tad too small for being a 4-person booth but it isn’t too much of an issue.
The food itself was quite underwhelming. For a place who is making a name for themselves based on steaks, it was very disappointing.
I ordered the Filet Medallions, cooked medium. I received them medium-well, almost well done. My partner ordered the prime rib, cooked medium-rare. It was disgustingly rare. One side was barely seared, the other side was still red like they just took it out the packaging. My partner ate it cause he doesn’t particularly mind rare meat, but he didn’t fully enjoy it. About 2/3rds of the steak was edible enough (the little bit of au jus served on the side was warm enough to help cook the meat a touch).
The plating is also very awkward in my opinion. Instead of a nice dish of meat and sides being plated in an appetizing way, it is plated more to the style of a cafeteria lunch. A mix of ramekins and plastic cups of sauces all squished on a small plate. Our table of 4 found ourselves having to strategically make space and get rid of unnecessary dish-ware to be able to eat more comfortably.
The bread rolls were very good, so those lived up to the hype (I preferred the regular butter over the cinnamon butter). The rolls and side of baked sweet potato were the only things I really enjoyed eating.
The one thing that really put me off however, was the state of the restrooms. Do not take your purse or bag with you, as there are no hooks on the stall doors. There are holes where a hook should be though. I had to hold my purse up with one hand while I tried to use the facilities.
The walls and doors of the stall are also absolutely filthy. It looks like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks & you can see the buildup of grime, splatters, and streaks of who-knows-what.
I will have to give a different location a second try, but this first impression is almost enough to not make me want to...
Read moreIf I could give this place less than one star, I absolutely would. This is not only the worst Texas Roadhouse location I’ve ever been to—it’s genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in all of Orlando.
Let’s start with the parking lot: it’s way too small for the crowd they try to accommodate. Guests were parking at the bank next door or at the nearby dentist office, visibly worried about being towed. And mind you, this was on a Thursday night—not even the weekend.
We were quoted a 15-minute wait. We ended up waiting closer to 40. There are only two benches outside and a roped-off patio area with a few tables. To make matters worse, the smell coming from the garbage can nearby was disgusting.
Eventually, we were called in via text. When we approached the host stand, the hostess didn’t greet us—just looked irritated and snapped, “Name.” After giving it, she pointed at a wall and barked “Stall two,” like we were cattle. Then we waited even longer in a crowded entryway until another host called our name, gave us a cold glance, and silently led us to our table—again, no greeting or smile.
Once seated, we didn’t get any rolls (a Texas Roadhouse staple) and weren’t told who our server would be. The restaurant was a mess—trash on the floor, tables cluttered with leftovers. It looked like no one cared to clean anything up.
Ten minutes go by. Finally, someone comes by, gives no introduction, and just asks what we want to drink. Still no rolls. Five more minutes pass, no drinks, no return. That was the final straw—we left. After wasting over an hour, walking out was the best decision of the night.
The staff were beyond rude. I understand food service isn’t an easy job, but a sliver of professionalism and basic respect goes a long way. This location clearly lacks both. The place was filthy, the staff couldn’t care less, and it honestly felt like customers were just a nuisance to them.
Save yourself the trouble and drive a little farther to the Texas Roadhouse in Clermont, Sanford, or even Kissimmee. All three are far superior to this disaster of an...
Read moreOn May 28, 2024, we made a reservation to celebrate my sister's high school graduation at a restaurant. Little did we know that we would encounter a series of unfortunate events. Upon arrival, we were informed that there was a two-hour wait, resulting in half of our family squeezing into the crowded bar area while the other half patiently waited outside.
Finally, our turn arrived, and we were seated at three separate tables. One table was a combination of two tables to accommodate eight family members, another table for four, and the remaining three were left at the bar. Fortunately, a table in between both families became available, prompting a manager to kindly escort three members of my family to that table.
To our disbelief, our joy quickly turned into dismay when a server by the name of Julian, approached the table and rudely demanded that our family members vacate the seats. He claimed that he needed the table to accommodate more customers and increase his earnings. This behavior was completely unexpected and utterly disrespectful, especially on such a special occasion as my sister's graduation.
Needless to say, this encounter left a sour taste in our mouths, and our appetites vanished instantly. However, the manager we spoke to was understanding and helpful. She not only apologized for Julian's behavior but also offered us five complimentary cheesecake slices and two free entrée coupons for our future visit as a gesture of goodwill.
I am deeply outraged by Julian's actions, his tone, and the way he addressed our family. It was disheartening to witness such disrespect, especially considering that he did not treat any other customer in such a manner. This incident has left a lasting impression, and I am disappointed in Texas Roadhouse for allowing such behavior from their staff, particularly Julian.
However, I am grateful for the manager's intervention and the compensation she provided. It somewhat alleviated the disappointment we experienced and showed that the restaurant acknowledges their responsibility in ensuring a pleasant dining experience for...
