False advertising and poor customer service ruined a tasty but pricey meal. We went on Monday December 2nd around 4:00 p.m. There four of us were partly attracted by the happy hour advertised in the Odessa Torchy's website. $2 off any marg. and $1.50 off any bottle or draft beer from 3pm-6pm Mon.-Fri. After ordering, we were told that their goal in this downtown location was to drive weekend business, so they wouldn't be doing that...Ok, but your website says you do. No, that's other places... ok, but it is right here in the Odessa Torchy's website with this address on it...(gets blank stare). When I brought the false web advertising to the manager's attention, he just have me a look of "and, so what? " and said he'd look into it. Sad customer service at best, downright irritating if you ask me.
Alright, moving on... kind of pricey to charge over $4 for chips and salsa in West Texas, but we bit and ordered the guacamole sauce with it (sounds kinda worth it, right?). Well after a short wait we're told that they have to make it, so we'll have to choose something else..(I guess it was easier to come talk to me than to just, I don't know.. uhmm.. MAKE IT?!) Ok... we'll take the Rojas sauce instead. But when I ran out of this just "ok" sauce long before chips, I have to buy more of this sauce. Told them never mind. Then they offer to bring a tiny plastic ramekin of it. Ok that helps. Why not offer that first to the customer you bait and switched twice already?! I guess Torchy's has joined several restaurants here in the Basin where good customer service and truth in advertising are old jokes ripped out of the funny pages and burned alive on the stake of oil and gas production. We won't be back, and neither will those I can influence. Margherita's and Rosa's,...
Read moreWent to Torchyâs for the first time ever in Odessa, Tx while visiting my husband so my family (husband and kids) could be together over the holidays. We live in Arlington and had never tried Torchyâs although people SWEAR by your establishment. Torchyâs was very conveniently located across the street from our hotel (Marriot)for the holidays, so we walked over for dinner. Upon placing my order it was very obvious that the person taking my order was new/being trained/not well versed in your menu. After placing my order and sitting down I glanced at our not itemized receipt and things didnât quite add up. My husband asked what I was looking for, I told him the total was relatively low for what we had ordered. Long story short we got our food and the order was completely wrong and incomplete. To say the manager on duty Kelly was unprofessional/lacking any service skills is a huge understatement. I had to âorderâ 3 items separately that I had originally ordered at the counter and the problem is that Kelly told on 3 different occasions that âyou didnât order thatâ after each one. She was very condescending in her tone and after almost resolving the order/missing items she brought out something that I ordered from her yet again WRONG. She offered zero apologies and zero admittance of any error on the companyâs end. I left there with 4 freaking receipts and some wonderful food. I hate that you have such a horrible leader in your establishment. She and her attitude are a poor reflection of what you guys offer. Please resolve the service in your...
Read moreWe went to Torchyâs on the 7th of February at approximately 1:30 and had one of the worst experiences in a very long time. When we entered the restaurant we only found one employee who was changing out the trash. We sat ourselves since no one was availability at the register. We waited for approximately 15 minutes and I decided to look for an employee to take our order. The employee who was taking out the trash couldnât speak English and was unable to help me find anyone. Suddenly a customer from the bar screamed at me and threatened me. I walked away and found the employees huddled in the back room and I asked to place an order. Someone finally sent a cashier out to take orders and based on her response she did not want to do it. As we approached the cashier the same customer once again threatened us so we left. Neither time did an employee intervene. This customer appeared to be very intoxicated. I attempted to call the restaurant to complain three times and no one would answer the phone. I called the corporate office and expressed my complaint with Ginger who assured me that someone would call me back. Since there has been no response I can only assume that poor customer service is accepted by the establishment and they do not care for the safety of...
