Had Onion Pepper Beef. It was good and I recommend it. Serving of refritos and rice was beyond skimpy and rice was not Mexican Rice but plain old white rice. La Crema was fine but guacamole and pico de gallio were both dry on top indicating they had set out a long time. I also had a lime Margarita. Size was about 12 oz per photo. When I tasted it I could find no tequila. When I finally got the waitress back she informed me my drink had no alcohol ( they serve both with and without) and said she would remake it. When I got the drink back made "with" I still could not taste any tequila, so I asked for a shot to bring it up. Waitress just disappeared and didn't come back. When after about 15 minutes I hailed her she said she could not serve e a shot until I finished the Margarita. In then asked if she could take the drink back and add a shot to it at my expense. She said 'no'. as the drink was made with one of these Kool Aid like mixes that come in a gallon bottle. (When I got home I made me a good Margarita) My experience was an ordeal. seats are too low and table in booth came to my chest. (I am 5' 8") and distance between seat back and table top is too narrow. I asked for a manager but she couldn't understand. To top it all off the waitress could not understand English and could rarely be found . The whole experience was an Ordeal and I won't be going back. Take your business where it is appreciated. If I could give NO stars, I would.

Not going to lie, I had high hopes for this place. 4.2 Stars should be an indication of really good food however the rating as well as the name Javier’s “Authentic Mexican Food” are just really off point. I’ve lived in the Southern states most of my life and have experienced real authentic Mexican foods which I truly do love and enjoy. This place serves what tastes like canned chicken in their dishes as well as clearly canned beans, horchata with no cinnamon? (Not the horchata!!), salsa that tastes like a pizza sauce , and to top it all off I have NEVER been to an authentic Mexican restaurant that didn’t have queso dip! We asked for queso dip which at first they didn’t bring out. Asked again and they brought a cup of SHREDDED cheese. I asked if they had any queso dip to which they said no. Oh and don’t let me forget. A steak taco that was included came out, I shoveled out the excessive lettuce they put in it and saw a weird textured meat tried a bite an no joke it was brisket! I can’t make this up. If it were possible to leave a -3 star review I 100% would. I am highly disappointed. Perhaps the standard for Mexican food in this area just isn’t very high. Hopefully I can find a place that meets its rating in quality because Javier’s definitely did not!

SALSA: The red salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce. I'm not a fan of oregano, especially in my Mexican food. PROS: The salsa Verde was really good and spicy! The salsa picoso was pretty good. It was more like a hatch sauce. CONS: 1. The service was awful. Not fluent in English so ordering wasn't easy. Took forever and only checked back once for refills. 2. The food was surprising bland seeing that I ordered a dish that had poblano pepper and salsa verde. I don't think it actually had salsa verde on it because it didn't look like the same sauce she gave me in a bowl. (See pics) 3. The chips were pretty much straight out of the bag.

Terrible! Our two worst experiences ever came from this one place.

First time we were forgotten. Told the waitress we were on a tight schedule due to WSU graduation that day. Immediately placed an order. And then we sat and sat. Other people came in. Ordered food. Got their food. We didn't see anyone afterward. An hour later, we were out of time, so we had to leave. It was even difficult finding someone else to tell them we had been forgotten.

Second time the management was miserable. My wife phoned in a reservation for a room six months in advance for a piano recital/dinner, so students's families could dine and listen. Everything was planned, families agreed on the menu, invitations sent, people got off work, we were set. Very close to the recital date, Javier's called us, saying that a wedding recital dinner rehearsal wanted to book that room and if my wife would let them. They were much bigger (and obviously offered more money), and so they wanted us to move the recital. My wife mentioned she booked first. Javier's asked if she could move to a restaurant much further away. My wife asked why they couldn't move the rehearsal to that restaurant. The manager just gave up and flat out told us they're dropping us and booking this other group! Because it was so close to the date, and everyone already was planning on a dinner/recital, we had no choice but to go to that other Javier's much further away, and make everyone change their plans to accommodate extra travel time. I can say the Harrisville Javier's manager is awesome. The South...

The service is terrible. After they seated us the waitress didn't show up for quite a long time. When she did, we were ready to order and she looked very grumpy with us. She didn't speak very loudly and mumbled whenever she would ask us anything so we couldn't really hear her - let alone understand her. She brought us our food and then left. We noticed there were a couple of things wrong with our orders, but she never came back to check on us... After waiting for about 20 minutes with nobody coming to check on us we had to go to the front and tell them there was something wrong with our order and that our waitress never came back. They said OK and asked where we were sitting. Then another 15 minutes went by until the server came back to argue with us that the food she gave us was what we ordered. She then just left without telling us what she was doing. A while passed and then she came back with the food we originally ordered. Then we waited for a long time for her to bring us the check, but she never came back. We had to walk up to the front AGAIN and say "Our server never came back and we would like to leave." We paid and then left and the server never apologized or even thanked us for coming in.

I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant ever before. I would not recommend eating...
