Delicious! My family and I were regular patrons of Bintliff’s in Ogunquit and we were truly sad when they closed. My mom lives in the area and when we discovered Chef Norm was at Perkins Cove kitchen we jumped to make brunch reservations for her birthday. The person I spoke to while making the reservation was warm, friendly and accommodating. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were pleasantly surprised that there was a dedicated lot for restaurant patrons. From start to finish, everything was lovely. Everyone that we encountered was friendly and kind. My children were able to get hot chocolates even though it was 90° out! (It was nice and cool in the restaurant) The restaurant is elegant, chic and cozy; every detail, down to the linens and flatware. The outside seating also looked very inviting. I can’t wait to come again and sit outdoors. Lisa took care of us today and she was so kind and friendly. I tried the bloody Mary with the basil and cucumber infused vodka. My drink was perfect, with just the right amount of bite. Each of my children enjoyed the buttermilk pancakes, one plain, and one with chocolate chips, (served with a delicious, generous amount of cold whipped cream). I had the smoked salmon plate, which was outstanding and plentiful. The salmon was flavorful accompanied with capers, tomatoes and red onions, and the bagel perfectly grilled. I nearly cleaned my plate. My husband enjoyed the champagne Benedict special and was thrilled with his choice. It was absolutely lovely. My mom ordered the breakfast charcuterie board for two which she shared with all of us. We each indulged in a bite from the plate which was a generous variety of wonderful choices. Chef Norm came out to check on our satisfaction with the meal which was so nice. We are already planning...
Read morePCK is a good location, well-decorated, and with a great atmosphere. Service was friendly, if a little bit slow.
Food tl,dr: drinks and appetizers were A+. Entrees were B+/A-.
We got the charcuterie board and crab cakes for appetizers. The charcuterie board was a good size with a nice variety of meats, cheeses and fruits. Definitely worth the price. The crab cakes were delicious with a unique flavor.
We had The Way Life Should Be drink, and it was fantastic. Tasted like an excellent red sangria (slightly sweet in a good way), and it was a generous size.
The entrees are where things went a little downhill. The lobster ravioli had great flavor, but the sauce (scampi-style) was too thin for a ravioli and ended up being very brothy. The ravioli were a decent size and generously filled, but the pasta itself was tough. The filet mignon with Gorgonzola sauce was delicious and cooked exactly to the rare temperature I ordered, but could have had a stronger sear. The asparagus side was salted to the point of being almost inedible. In retrospect I should have sent the asparagus back. The smashed potato side was fine, but unremarkable. The salmon entree was good, as was the scallop special.
I would have given 4 stars (3.5 is my real rating), except the bill came out in a cheap cardboard gift box. This gimmick is pretty insulting: “here’s your $300 bill as a gift!” If you’re going to use a gift box for the bill, the very least you can do is to put some chocolates or mints in there. We felt bad for the server who was put in an incredibly awkward situation having to use the gift box. Please, for the love of food and customer service, get rid of the stupid gift box.
At the end of the day, all four of us plan to...
Read moreWe were looking forward to a dinner with interesting food. That’s their motto. No boring food! What we experienced was disappointing. When the chef came over to check on our food, first we mentioned that we had flies bothering us and she blamed it on leaving the door open. Then, I let her know that some of the vegetables in my entree were too woody and inedible. My entire was the tuna steak. Then she left us and said she’d inform someone in the kitchen. She didn’t return. This was troubling. I was hoping to hear at least an apology. Our watermelon stack looked interesting on the menu. It was lacking flavor. We didn’t share that with our server at this point, hoping to enjoy the rest of our meal, but it went downhill from there. Minor point, I ordered a Manhattan, received an old fashioned, that’s a common error. I let the server know, and then I let her know I’d be fine with it. The delicious focaccia bread with oil, wasn’t offered until we asked for it. Unfortunately, it came with our entrees. Too late. My wife’s scallops were delicious. Hence 2 stars. The tuna was fine, a thick streak, again not much flavor, other than some of the inedible vegetables nothing special, and I was not sure what was under it. The chef said puréed cauliflower. I shared all of this with the chef as we were leaving. She said that she would share it with Sasha our server. Then she again left us! It’s hard to leave such a poor review, I hope that they can make changes and improve. Very...
