Ogunquit Heritage Museum — Attraction in Ogunquit

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We attended a wedding ceremony that was held in the public grass area and the museum curators were extremely rude and unhelpful. Word of caution, even after hours the two parking spaces available at the museum are off limits and they will stand over you like hawks till you move your vehicle, even if you have handicap tags. One of the curators is nice but the gray-haired woman will yell at you for anything.

And don’t expect to ask to use the bathroom. At the ceremony we had some guest that needed to use the restroom and she offered a porta-potty at the end of the park trail. When we mentioned the porta-potty was gone she suggested we go walk across the parking lot, around the corner and ask the use the restroom at the police station. She returned to her phone call and ignored us the rest of the time.

It’s such a shame because the location is such a beautiful place to hold a ceremony but the museum employees ruin the atmosphere and just add unnecessary stress to an already stressful day. This could be a very interesting museum. However, the woman in charge is very rude! We asked if the museum was open and she said “what does the sign say outside the door.” What a welcome! We were two minutes from our motel room, but when we stayed a while and asked to use the restroom she accused us of stopping to use the restroom. We went to this museum expecting to learn about the Indigenous people and history. Unfortunately the history here is really only anglo-saxon. That being said, it was a great little place to stop by.
