This was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had here! Our waitress was rushing us from the second we sat down. She brought our drinks and asked if we knew what we wanted and we said we just needed a minute, she comes back not even two minutes later and says “what can I get you guys?” As we are still clearly looking at the menu… I said we just need another minute and she seemed really annoyed that we didn’t know yet. This was all in a 5 minute time frame?! I’ve never felt so rushed to get my order in, in the end I just ended up picking something that I wasn’t happy with just to hurry because I felt uncomfortable. It wasn’t even busy either, if it was I would be WAY more understanding. After bringing our food out she was basically done with us, just walked by our table dropped the check off without saying a word or looking at us. Meanwhile we can hear her with the table beside us asking questions like “is there anything else I can get you guys? Is this gonna be separate or together? Do you need a box?” - NONE of which we got. Neither my boyfriend or I are confrontational people so throughout all this uncomfortableness where we felt very unwelcome, we were still being VERY polite and giving her the benefit of the doubt. But after leaving I just feel frustrated and upset that we were treated that way when we did absolutely nothing wrong. Also lastly the picture attached is self explanatory, I realized there was a dead bug in the biscuit I was eating - which even that I can be understanding with, it happens!! But it was just the cherry on top of...
Read moreBig big kudos to Bob Evans in Boardman. We figured they would be less busy than all the other restaurants today (we were so right). They were still slammed with takeouts, had a lobby pretty full of people waiting for tables, and were honest with all the people waiting that they were backed up with all the takeout orders and that the table service would be slow as a result. Our poor server (super nice woman named Nelly) kept apologizing once we were seated about the wait, but we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all, enjoyed our meals that all came out hot, and within a decent amount of time, and just enjoyed some time as a family chatting while we waited and then ate dinner. Fairly positive there were only 3 servers waiting on the whole dining room, but they were all hustling like crazy. It’s Mother’s Day folks, don’t go out and get mad about wait times, or if food takes longer than normal, or if your poor waitstaff looks frazzled. It’s their busiest day of the year, and a little kindness goes a long way to making their days easier. Thanks to Nelly, Morgan at hostess stand, and the rest of the staff at Bob Evans in Boardman for a great...
Read moreStaff is always great and have had some great breakfasts there in the past - Unfortunately - some things are not the same and need to return to the previous quality. (i.e. Corporate decisions) For example - if you ask for hash browns well done - they are automatically deep fried now in EVERY restaurant, because otherwise, (as the waitress explained) "they take too long" - you must ASK specifically for them NOT to be deep fried, but to be GRILLED (as in, cooked normally -how they should be, til browned) Also, the coffee brand, which always used to be very good, has recently been changed to what tastes like a lesser quality bean which has a bitter aftertaste. My friends and I have all noticed this on multiple occasions, and fresh pots don't make a difference in helping the taste. Another observation - have always liked their banana bread - but, the last few slices I've had basically tasted as though there was no real banana in it - just artificial banana flavor - come'on BE, bananas are pretty cheap, ya know.. I don't mind paying a little more if I get what I pay for, but Bob Evans needs to be careful, as quality seems to be on...
