Very dissatisfied with todays visit. They were out of most meats, which I can sort of understand, you don't want to have many leftovers, so you should be looking at last 2 years' sales, the weather, and current weather and any special events happening to help plan your day.
I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich and side of mac n' cheese and a regular diet pepsi.
I was not aware of any kind of 'sauce' that comes on the chicken. It isn't mentioned anywhere and the order taker did not mention anything about it. I don't think it was bad but I would not want it again (if you can't get the pulled chicken without it then I would not order the pulled chicken, and with todays outages, that would have been a wasted trip.
The next foul was how long it took to receive my food. There was 1 person ahead of us when we ordered, a few more carry-out orders must have arrived while we were placing our order. I cannot say for sure but it appeared carryout/mobile orders were getting priority over dine-in customers. That is the equivalent to a sales associate ceasing interaction with a physical customer to answer the phone and talk to a customer on the phone.
By the time we got our food nothing was hot... it was borderline luke warm.
Their hours state they close at 9pm on Saturday night. There was a female employee pulling up the rugs and such around 8pm and at 8:22pm came to our table and told us "if you want a refill get it now because I'm closing down the beverage station".
We were about done anyway but what if we weren't? What if we had just sat down? 30+ minutes to close and we would not be able to get a refill on soda we paid for, with allowable refills? That could be construed as false advertising (advertising free refills but denying them after the fact) and borderline fraud.
The luke warm mac n' cheese tasted good, even though it looked and tasted older. The pulled chicken was OK too, barely luke warm and with that sauce.
Not a good experience and I would not be heart broken to hear they were closing...
Read moreI contacted City BBQ for some catering pricing for my wedding reception, which was less than 6 weeks away! We were planning a December 21st Holiday Hoedown theme as we are Toledo transplants living in Nashville for the past 3 years. Ken was awesome with allowing us to customize the menu to fit our needs, letting us substitute desserts with other sides and add cornbread, without all the ridiculous up charges other places would tack on. He invited me and my family down to the restaurant and comped a sampler platter for me (so much food, I had to box it up!) and soft drinks for my entire family! Final head count wasn't due until 72 hours before, which was awesome considering our so-close-to-Christmas date. The ladies that arrived for set-up were professional and so efficient. We had rented a large coffee pot from Meredith Party rentals only to find out an hour before the reception that it was not operating. City BBQ furnished a coffee pot for our guests at no extra cost and saved the day, even making the coffee for us! We also could not find small plates for a cookie buffet we had set up, and again City BBQ came to the rescue and found some small plates in their truck and set them out for us. The girls that set up were so attentive to any needs of our guests, and kept checking with me to make sure everything tasted good and that our guests were satisfied. Needless to say, EVERYONE at our reception raved about the food. The brisket is beyond compare and the green beans and potatoes were amazing. After everyone had eaten (many had seconds!), the crew boxed up all of our left-overs and put them away in the refrigerator. My family and I ate for days after the event, and I even made the most amazing corn bread stuffing for our Christmas dinner. Thanks City BBQ for making this event so memorable because of your awesome food and amazing staff. We would recommend your catering services to anyone that asks!

Read moreAll the food here is amazing even the french fries and the fresh ranch dressing. I've never had a bad meal here. They do great with takeout and dine in although it is always a little chilly in the dine-in area so bring a coat. They have great beverages great desserts great side dishes just literally everything on the menu is great. My favorite is the brisket and the smoked sausage. The sausage is so yummy and flavorful and has a great snap to it. I always get their french fries they taste just like Cedar Point french fries and they're always super duper hot and I dip them and ranch. Sometimes the unisex bathrooms can be a little bit on the rough side and if they're very busy the tables inside can be a little dirty but at least there's a bucket and a towel to sanitize if you need to do it yourself. They also have a great outside area when it's warm out to eat. They also have a great rewards program so that you can get free food and free money off on your birthday. Everyone is so polite and kind. I love it when they have the burnt ends which isn't very often and I know it sounds crazy but try the salad all of their dressings are amazing. You would think for a barbecue joint they wouldn't really know a whole lot about side dishes like that or dressing and things but man they make the best dressings the best salads the best french fries the best sweet tea literally everything. A place I like to frequent a lot as it feels like home and like a local joint where everyone is part...
