This was my second trip to crazy dogs. To be honest, it was just going to be a quick stop for something to eat, as I really wasn't in the mood for your standard fast food fare. Boy, was I wrong. On my first trip, unfortunately, I took no pictures, I got their Jersey dog. It was an Italian sausage sandwich with onions, peppers, pizza sauce and melted cheese. Along with it I got their house made potato chips. My wife got something called The Loaded fry dog with cheese curds. By the end of the meal I was sitting there stunned by how good the food was. On this trip, I picked up the Chillicothe dog. A basic chili dog with onions and cheese. This time I also got French fries instead of chips. Their hot dogs are firm and meaty, the chili was on the sweet side (which isn't usually a hit for me) and you don't get a standard hot dog bun. It's more along the lines of a sub roll. If I had to make one constructive criticism, I would say just a little heat in the chili would really brighten the flavor. Their fries, are very thick, but not to the point of being steak fries. They were crunchy and brown on the outside and fluffy in the middle. What more could you ask for? One of the owners was patrolling the floor, asking customers what they thought and if they needed anything. She was very warm and inviting. She was at the front registers on our first trip and recognized us since it had been only 2 days since we had been there. She chatted with us a little bit, and then when our food was ready, she was the one who brought it to our table. I didn't mention that you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No standing around and waiting for your food. In today's fast food shove it in your face world, it's nice to see someone who cares about what they're doing. If you're around Chillicothe, just south of Aldi on Bridge Street, pull into the Crazy Dogs Grill and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. On an aside, they serve Perry's brand ice cream. I have yet to get any, but my friends from New York swear that it is awesome.

The trip started on Wednesday morning in Rock Hill South Carolina. Our bags were packed and we headed out on our way to Dearborn Michigan. The sites were beautiful as we drove through the mountains of West Virginia, and then into the plains of Ohio. It rained most of the time, but still was able to get some beautiful pictures. We finally reached our destination of Dearborn, Michigan after 11 hours in the truck. The hotel wasn’t bad but I didn’t get much sleep. We packed up the next morning and headed to meet Jeff to pick up the Straw Blower we were purchasing from him. Everything went smoothly and we were back on the road by 9 AM to start the trek back to South Carolina. Around 1230 we needed to stop for fuel and we’re also getting a little hungry. We jumped off Highway 23 and made our way into Chillicothe. Now, my buddy and I have a knack for finding hole in the wall places that have great reviews on Google when we are out on the road. Needless to say, this one did not disappoint as we pulled up and found a parking spot. When we got inside the owner, Debbie greeted us and explained how the menu worked. They have pictures and writing all over the wall. I joked with her and told her, we need to teach her how to make a southern hotdog (slaw, chili, onions, mustard). She said they didn’t have chili for the hotdogs but she let me try some of her homemade Coney sauce and I highly recommend it. We both ordered something a little different off the menu. When the hotdogs made it to the table, they looked exactly like the pictures. Mine was full of bacon, baked beans, barbecue, and bbq sauce. I have to say that was probably one of the best hotdogs and experiences I’ve had in a long time. Along with a hotdog. I also got waffle fries and I can honestly say they are to die for. If you ever find yourself making your way through Chillicothe, Ohio, I recommend stopping by Crazy Dogs Grill, and having one of the best meals of your life. Thank you to Debbie and her staff for making it such a great experience.

This is my family's new favorite place. I really can't say enough good things about it. We had probably driven by 100 times before ever got around to trying it. I really wish we'd stopped in sooner! Admittedly, from the outside the building is nothing fancy. Once you step in though, it's cozy and homey and extremely clean. The owner and employees really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. They also take a lot of pride in the quality of their food. The menu is massive! There's a huge variety of different toppings. On one visit I had a fry dog, which consisted of an all beef dog, topped with fries, a really great coney sauce, bacon, cheese, onions, and a drizzle of sour cream. Another visit was that same great beef dog, topped with bbq, bacon, and mac and cheese. They have Chicago dogs, Reuben dogs, the list goes on and on. The hot dogs are good quality and I think a quarter pound size and the buns are bigger and fluffier than a normal hot dog bun. Sides are great too. So far we've tried the homemade chips, which were fantastic. The cheese curds and corn nuggets, both tasted homemade, perfectly fried with a spicy crunchy breading. Onion rings are really good, and the fries appear to be hand cut, and also excellent. They have a variety of interesting dipping sauces to choose from as well. Crazy dogs also does burgers and other sandwiches, but we haven't got to those yet. We're looking forward to it though! If you're looking for a great, unique, reasonably-priced meal, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Not only is the food wonderful, but you're helping support a local business.

Took the opportunity to finally try this now 3 year old establishment. Happy Anniversary to CRAZY DOGS GRILL. Glad I did. The name is truth! They have more combinations of Dogs, Sausages than I have ever seen being combined with eggs, bacon, cheese. Sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, Cole slaw, quac and more, depending on your choice. For those patty lovers the combos can be made on a burger for you. I went for the Big T. It was exactly what I wanted. Kind of reminded of the ones from the Silver Lady way back when. The house chips are great. Staff were very friendly, helpful and customer oriented. From ordering to serving and doing everything to make sure the food is done right. It was also very nice to here about a new combo of flavor they are going to unleash..soon. All I will say is that it involves the Big T. If you have not checked this establishment out, you should. Family friendly, great use of space. Indoor and outdoor seating. What a menu.

Crazy Dogs Grill was an all around fun experience. As soon as you walk in the door, classic rock tunes greet you at full volume. Whoever put that playlist together deserves a raise. Then a smiling face behind the cash register helped us with recommendations to ensure we got the best weiner for our money. I got the Chillicothe dog, which had chili, cheese, and onions. The chili was a little on the sweet side, but complimented the dog well. I also had a side of cole slaw, which was very mayo-forward, but alas, that's how I like it. I would definitely return to the Crazy Dogs Grill.
