El Torero Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Ohio

Went to this restaurant 4/29/2022. I ordered the Steak Mexicano. I specifically asked our server if there was any cheese or dairy that could possibly come on my food. The menu does not state cheese but I have had issues with cheese being on food at other places and not listed on the menu. He told me NO. I clarified there would be absolutely NO cheese or dairy as I am allergic. He again said NO. When I recieved my food, there was cheese on it. I asked for it to be remade and said I could not have any of the food on that plate because the cheese had touched it and I needed new everything. He said okay. Not even 5 minutes later, my "new food" came back. It was not new food. The peppers still had traces of cheese. It looked like they brought me the same plate and had removed the parts with cheese and then added extra on top to "cover" what they may have missed. I sent it back and had it removed off my bill after saying again I am allergic. I requested a manager and the manager came to the table and when I explained I could end up in the hospital because of what the server had done the manager made excuses. "Well if you had to go we have insurance" and "he probably did that because we are so busy on the weekends and did not want to make it again." ...Excuse me?! That's not how you deal with someone who has an allergy. Especially someone who said they had said they had an allergy and tried to clarify to avoid this issue in the first place. Filled up on the tortilla chips instead of an actual meal. Will NEVER...

Went there this evening for Valentine's Day and I honestly will say that it was not very good which is typically not the case. I ordered the Fajitas Jalisco and it's supposed to come out to me on a sizzling plate...nope not tonight. It came to me cold. I told the young lady who was our waitress and she seriously just stood there and looked at me like I was talking a foreign language. She tried to tell me they only had 3 people working...not true, I saw more than 3 but ok she said three and that they were busy...I explained to her I understand the staffing issue but that's no reason for cold food. I asked her why should I be expected to pay full price for a meal that is cold. I had to ask her to take it back...she took it away and about 10 mins later she came back with one that was sizzling. As I started to eat it, I realized that they just put my same food that was cold on a hot plate...the top was still cold. Only part that was hot was the food touching the plate. I was irritated..I know I could have chosen anywhere to go but I choose El Torero on Elm Rd. Trust and believe I will not make this mistake again. Listen, I understand no one wants to work anymore and I do appreciate those who do show up for work...but do not expect me to be ok with subpar service and food when I am expected to pay the higher prices for such food. HORRIBLE service....went there with 10 other ladies celebrating 2 birthdays. We sat in the bar area and had to go to the bar to get our own drinks... Asked several different people for more chips and salsa which never came... After we ordered, our food came out and typically it's really hot, not this time....barely warm, but we did not want to chance sending it back for fear of what would happen to it, and then 9 of us were pretty much done with our meals and one of our ladies was STILL waiting on hers!! We kept asking our waitress about it, but all she had to say was it wasn't her job to get our food, she just takes the orders!!!!! Well, WHO gets the tips then?!?!?! Manager was on vacation, and someone else came out but the waitress just put the blame everywhere else....she never checked to make sure our orders were right, if we needed more drinks, etc...Another sweet waitress that overheard our complaints came over to see if she could help....needless to say, our friends meal came RIGHT out and she also helped with a couple other issues, so....guess who got ALL of our tips??? This is not the first time we've had a bad experience here since they moved, but kept giving them another chance to work the links out since we try to meet once a month...well, we're done.
