My Graduation Was Ruined Over a Chicken Strip Melt
I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m honestly still upset and just need to share this. All I wanted to celebrate my high school graduation was the Chicken Strip Melt from Perkins. It might sound small to some people, but that sandwich is my comfort food—crispy chicken, melty cheese, buttery Texas toast—it’s the perfect bite, and I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks.
I finally got it, paid almost $20 for my meal, sat down at a booth to relax and soak it all in. I was so happy. But in all the excitement, I accidentally left my food on the table when I left the restaurant. About 20 minutes later, I realized and immediately called the store, hoping they still had it. Instead, the manager told me they had thrown it away—and he was completely rude about it.
I tried to explain how important this meal was to me, that it was part of my graduation celebration, but he didn’t care. No offer to remake it, no apology, no refund. Just “it’s gone.”
I know it’s “just food,” but it meant a lot to me in that moment. I ended up crying for two hours afterward because it felt like such a disappointing end to a day I had really looked forward to. I spent $20 on something I never even got to eat, and the whole experience left me feeling ignored and disrespected.
I still love the Chicken Strip Melt, but now it just reminds me of how a special day turned into a really upsetting one....
Read moreI just finished eating here with my family and I can honestly say that it was the worst experience I have ever had at this establishment. The manager that seated us was very cordial and nice but the waitress we had was extremely rude. She was short with us when she took our drink order, then we waited 20 minutes for our drinks, which we were missing half the drink order when it was delivered. We then asked 2 separate times for a coffee mug so my husband could drink his coffee and we were ignored. I finally got up and flagged down another waitress for a coffee cup. We then waited an additional 40 minutes for our food which seemed excessive since we were only one of 10 tables with 4 waitresses. All of our food was ice cold and wasn't even delivered by our waitress, but by the amazing manager from before that offered to warm up our meals for us, which we declined since we had waited almost an hour for our food and we had small children. We hurried up and ate what we could then the waitress showed up, after not checking on us even once, and gave us our check and left. The manager was gracious enough to comp our meal after all of the ridiculousness that happened. She was an amazing person and if all of the waitresses were like her, I'm sure there wouldn't have been an...
Read moreIt's Girl's Night Out and we are at Perkins Restaurant on Elm Rd., in Warren tonight. The restaurant was nearly empty due to the virus scare. The decor was really nice and the restaurant itself was very clean. Unfortunately it is not the Perkins of old. We always enjoyed coming here for a hearty, home cooked style meal. I had the jumbo shrimp with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. Three of my shrimp were meely and three were cooked nice, over fried a bit, but still nice. The mashed potatoes were real, although cold. The gravy was very salty. Hey..the corn was good though. My cousin had the fish and chips. She got a boatload of fries which were good, but the fish was over fried to a very dark brown color. My daughter had the chicken tenders with fries and fruit, although she never got her fruit - even after asking twice. Again, the chicken tenders were a dark brown color as opposed to a golden brown. We split a piece of banana cream pie was was DELICIOUS! Our waitress was wonderful but that alone would not bring us back. Whatever troubles Perkins Restaurant went through with their parent company, they did not emerge unscathed....
