Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Ohio

We went there and order our food . We got to the window to pay and we had two orders. The guy only took the money for one and sent us forward to wait for our food for the first order. When the guy came out with the food he brought out some of the food and missing some . We explain to him that we had two orders and he didn't take the money for the second one at the window. He went back in with my card and came out with my card and part of my order. We told him I needed a receipt and the rest of our order. He said ok . He went back in. Then the manger came out and wanted to know what was going . We explain to him what happened. The manager told me that the guy told him that I didn't pay for my food . I told him I did and showed it on my phone where it was taken out of account. Manager told us they was short handed and I needed to ask for a receipt. Which I did and never got one. Then I looked at my sandwiches and they wasn't prepared like I had ordered . I went in and ask the manager what was suppose to be on #26 and he told me that he had to tell them what I want on them. Which I have never heard of before in my life. When you see a picture of what you want then you should be able to get what you pay for. We waited for about a half an hour to finally get some food even though it wasn't right. I have never in my life been accused of never paying for stuff . I am so glad I paid with my debit card . I will never go there again and be treated like that . I really think the person above this manger needs to do some checking on his employees. Of the eight tables available for a family of 4 all were dirty when we walked in. Although there seemed to be ample staff (3 waitresses and 1 busboy or maybe all 4 wait staff), cleaning the tables was not a priority. There was a lot of trash and dishes (a cup and silverware) on the floor, right by an empty trash can and the order entry station. In the 25 minutes while waiting for our food, only 1 table was cleared and that was because another family came in. This was the pattern throughout our visit, tables cleared only as needed for customers. The waitress took our order but a different waitress brought it out, when i said it wasnt right she rollwd her eyes and walked away with an attitude. The original waitress was standing nearby and I told her it was incorrect. Instead of walking over she stood where she was while I repeated myself several times as to the mistake, fiballwalking over when I held the plate out to her. She said she wasn't the one who rang it so she didn't know. When she brought it back she claimed she did enter it right but they sent it out wrong. Never once did anyone come out to check on us or refill our drinks. After we had sat at our table with empty plates about 5 minutes she asked if we were still doing ok as she was walking by. We went to this Steak ‘n Shake for lunch. I’ve been to many Steak ‘n Shake restaurants but never this one before. They cheated me out of one of the sandwiches I ordered. It was a $6 burger out of a $50 total meal order... not a big deal, really, especially since I have never had an incorrect order previously at Steak ‘n Shake. However, I am in awe of how the manager handled it when I told her I was missing a cheeseburger from my order. She told me they did not believe me because she “knew for a fact my complete order was sent out on the tray”. . Perhaps they sent one of my burgers to another table… not sure. They probably have cameras and can tell if it was or wasn’t received. But in any event the manager would rather accuse me of trying to scam them out of a $6 burger than adjust my bill or remake the missing burger. My family and I stood there in complete disbelief as this manager was outright calling me a thief. I asked for her name and she ran and hid. I asked her to count the wrappers on my tray as she took it and dumped it in the trash. Wow. I now have to dispute it with my credit card company over such a petty thing. Rude and otherwise shady service. Will not eat here again. Take a video of your meal being delivered to you because if the order is incorrect, they will not make it...
