Chen's Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Oil City

Friends, I love people. I want hard working entrepreneurs to succeed and live in abundance. I would NEVER say something that would destroy a good person's reputation.

With that said, I'm sorry, I will NEVER eat here again.

I wish the best for the owners of this establishment, but, the fact that the plumbing of the ENTIRE BUILDING, (including a near-by bank) is having complications and clogs in their plumbing because of what appears to be GREASE IN THE SEWAGE PIPES, is a clear indication that cooking materials are not being properly disposed of, (illegal).

Secondly, I have had a 1 to 1 conversation with someone that works in the building that this restaurant resides. They Informed me that the cook, (potentially the owner), of this restaurant attempted to fix a toilet clog IN HIS COOKING ATTIRE, before RETURNING TO THE RESTAURANT TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS.

Friends and neighbors of Venango county, I'm here to tell you, I very rarely leave a review unless it's 5 Stars. I love rewarding good service and hard-working Americans with positive feedback and compliments for being exemplary.

At establishments I've had less than exemplary service, I simply refrain from rating them. This is an extenuating circumstance. This is a health issue for the community. Families in my area are in danger if this is in fact taking place, and with all the love of my heart, needs to be investigated.

I have always had a positive experience with this restaurant, and the food is always excellent. Any mistakes on an order has been swiftly rectified by the restaurant, and they never disappoint.

On the other hand, this Revelation has demanded of me that I inform the public. I cannot in good conscience remain silent when the possibility of someone endangering my community's health...

I had high hopes for this place based on it's Urban Spoon rating of like 87% favorable. The decor is nice, clean, cool fish tanks, cool bar, just a nice spot. The food was just "meh". I think it had potential but really ended up just lacking in flavor. The fried dumplings had dough that was way to thick. The egg roll was fair. The Chicken Sizzler had a good pepper flavor but that's kind of it. The Volcano Shrimp were large and plentiful but were over battered. They were glazed with a sweet red sauce that finished with a hint of spice. With a name like Volcano, I would expect beads of sweat on my forehead. It was kind of like the rest though, just...

I ordered the Yuen's crispy garlic chicken and it was phenomenal. It wasn't super crispy like i expected, but it was drenched in a delicious sauce so that probably had something to do with it. All i can say is it was really good. Its not easy searching for new foods to try at Chinese places and this was a rare find. I highly recommend trying it if you're tired of the normal things you can get anywhere. I also had the pan friend dumplings and they were a tad small but also super delicious and I'm very thankful I got to enjoy such a great meal. Easily worth the 20$ I spent. Thanks for...
