I came to this place hoping to taste some wine. When I entered the tasting room, there was no CLOSED sign on the door, and inside there were 8-10 people seated at the bar tasting wine. But the man refused to serve me claiming they were closing at 6pm. But he repeatedly offered to sell me some wine instead. When I pointed out that (1) I was there to taste some wine (2) it would be difficult to decide which wine to buy without tasting first (3) it wouldn't take long to taste a few wines, and (4) there were 8-10 people sitting at the bar at the time tasting wine so clearly he wasn't closing anytime soon, the man became irritated and said "You're making me very angry."
For a man in a position of customer service and salesmanship, surely you should not let anger get the better of you. Instead of focusing on your own feelings, perhaps try (however hard it may be) empathizing wth your customers? Happy people make good customers. Obviously you have never heard of this. Had you allowed me to taste a few wines in 10 minutes of your overtime, surely I would feel obliged to buy? But going home was far more important to you. It's either that, or some small-town racism at play (I felt singled out by your refusal of service when there were other customers tasting wine at the bar). However you will try to justify your behaviour, it was a totally unpleasant experience for me as a...
Read moreWe had our full wedding at Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room, ceremony plus reception, and Mikaela and the staff there truly went above and beyond to make it a beautiful and well-run event. From the beginning, Mikaela helped us plan a lovely celebration, and she worked directly with our caterer and musicians ahead of time to make sure everything came together. On the day of, she and her staff were always one step ahead of us to ensure everything went smoothly; I had a private tasting room to get ready in before the event, the fresh flowers they put out were gorgeous, and our music, food, and floor plan changes throughout the evening all went very well; Mikaela also made sure I always had a lovely glass of wine between photos and events which was greatly appreciated! Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room had a special place with us because it is the first place we went after we became engaged and we are so glad we chose to marry there, the wine is delicious and we will definitely visit again whenever we...
Read moreThank you, Charlie, for your excellent service, especially when my mother started explaining the rules of Codenames to you and then went on to explain in detail the clue I had given her in the previous round which was a very specific inside joke referring to her family name, leprechauns, and ghost stories. You are a gem of a person.
I enjoyed the buttery Chardonnay and I don’t usually enjoy chards as a general rule. Same with the rosé - not generally my cup of tea, but it was perfect. Pure, unadulterated rosé. Just like the dinosaurs did it.
Some of the best bathroom experiences I’ve ever had. Truly splendid. I would go again just to chill in there. Also, using grape vine roots as art is possibly my new favorite thing. I’m all for uplifting nature as art and incorporating organic materials into indoor...
