Ojai Certified Farmers Market — Local services in Ojai

Lovely selection of farmers some from right here in the Ojai Valley. One may find, in addition to fresh vegetables and fruits in season, fresh flowers from more than one vendor (the grower from Carpinteria has a great selection. Other vendors offer flowers in addition to other things.); honey, a few meat and poultry sellers (top notch), olive oil, eggs, baked goods - BreadLok from Santa Monica generously drives up to vend at this FM. Their's is a gluten free bakery and oh so wonderful - fav is the olive bread and that lavender dessert cake! Trying the focacia this time. Anticipating greatness. Stepladder creamery comes down from Cambria with excellent cheese. Goat and cow. Grooving on Cabrillo right now (manchego like). There's even a coffee roaster selling beans (not coffee to drink). BTW, it's all open now without capacity limits. Honestly not crowded at all when I went. Masks are still required (writing this review April 2021 while pandemic still in play. This is by far one of the nicest Farmers Markets with an excellent variety of vendors. The Goat cheese stand was my favorite and got most my money, Violet with her fantastic smelling natural hand made soaps, the gluten free coconut macaroons, fresh eggs and grass fed beef. I bought so many rare plants too. Of course I came home with bundles of celery, lettuce, chard, collards, micro-greens - I even tried pine needle juice and the fresh pear juice was out of this world. Bring lots of cash - you won't be able to control yourself! I did not buy my fruit here as I prefer Nancy's daily fresh picked fruit stand over on Lomita...

Visiting from out of town and decided to check out the famous market. We thoroughly enjoyed it until one of the soap vendors was extremely rude to my wife and I and ruined the experience. We asked if the soap had a glycerin base and they replied with "Why would you say that? Don't pretend you know what you're talking about." And continued snickering as we walked away.
