I will not be patronizing this restaurant in the future. I called and ordered General Tso's Chichen and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. I will admit that the chicken was fairly decent, tender and the sauce was tasty, although not spicy at all. However, any redeeming qualities were soon overshadowed by the experience with the shrimp. I picked up each piece to put them on plates, and they were moist and mushy. You would expect this from the 45 minute wait time they had before they got to me riding in a closed container that was - I assume at one time - hot. My problem came when I bit into a shrimp and the dough wasn't even close to cooked. I called the restaurant and the person spoke very broken English, and advised me that the shrimp were just mushy from being in a container. I expressed that the inside of the breading was just dough and completely raw, and that meant that the shrimp were probably under cooked as well.. I reminded them that this meant that they were serving under cooked shellfish to their customers as the woman continued to argue with me. I advised her at that time that I would never eat at China House again and thanked her for her time. I truly believe that this is a danger, and as I even offered to return the shrimp for a new order and my request was denied, one has to assume that the bottom line for this restaurant falls above the health of their patrons....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been placing delivery orders here at least twice a week for several months now. Anytime I place my order I always select the option to have my chicken fried rice or my pork fried rice extra spicy and I always add the option to have my egg drop soup upgraded to mildly spicy. Most of the time they get this right but I bet that out of the last six or seven orders I've placed they have not made my orders spicy. Usually I just deal with it, but tonight I was really wanting my food the way that I ordered it. I called them back to let them know that my entire order arrived and NONE of it was spicy. I spoke to a man, and he informed me that he would have the female manager call me back. I sat and waited now for over 45 minutes with ZERO response and ZERO returned phone call. As I said before this has happened to me MULTIPLE times, but this is the ONLY time I have ever called to complain. I love the food here and I just wanted them to make this right as I was expecting my food to be EXACTLY AS I ORDERED IT. The fact that NO ONE EVER CALLED ME back, made me EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in them. They will lose a dedicated weekly customer over something this small. All I wanted was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first review (5 stars), given after 15+ years of patronage, was good... actually very good. I would like to change that to reflect my most recent experience. My issue is not with the food, which for the most part was more than satisfactory. My problem is with the character of the owner/manager who cheated me out of a $5.50 free item. My order was for $45 (approx) of food which then came with a free item--I selected the house special lo mein. When the order was delivered the lo mein was missing. I called the store and ask that the missing item be sent out that evening with their next delivery. They initially objected; offering to make it up on my next order. They finally agreed to send it out when I said that I'd be happy to tip the driver $5 for his trouble... which THEY DID NOT DO! Over the years I suppose I've spent several thousand dollars with them... around $50 per order with normally 2-3 orders per month for the last 17 years: you do the math. Anyway -- no more. I will NEVER spend another dollar with them and suggest that if you are reading this that you follow suit. They are without honor and DO NOT DESERVE...
