I do not leave bad reviews often, because I have worked in the service industry for years, and I’m a small business owner myself. Regardless this cannot go unsaid. I’m a vegetarian, I have been for four years. So when we go to places to eat I make sure to specify this for my safety. I ordered a breakfast and said no meat, substitute avocado. Again I specifically said I am a vegetarian. We got our breakfast and first issue was one of my eggs had a shell underneath, no big deal I spit it out, and didn’t even mention it. Then as I start eating I notice something, there was meat in my food. Someone who hasn’t had meat in years will get violently ill if it is ingested. The waitress was super busy so I couldn’t bring it to her attention for a while. When I finally let her know the first response I got was “well everything is cooked on the same grill” and she set down our check. Now this girl was slammed running around taking care of the whole restaurant it seemed, but that response was very off putting. As if I should just never go to a breakfast place that serves meat because I’m a vegetarian. She did apologize a few times after, but I never saw a manager, also nothing was done to rectify the situation. I’m already not feeling well, and I had a big day ahead of me. I will never eat here again, or any for that matter, because dietary restrictions are not important to this company. Now, besides that the waitress was good, but it definitely could of been handled better. Now I’m just going to have to endure this pain for the...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in for breakfast this morning after stopping in OKC overnight on our vacation. We made a point to drop in after visiting for the first time a couple of months ago on another trip to OKC. We may be starting to set a pattern here.
Jimmy's Egg has the look and feel of a hometown diner and I think most of the people having breakfast this morning were regulars. The wait-staff is friendly and attentive and always seem up for a little interesting conversation.
The food is excellent and the portions are plentiful. If you're going for the buttermilk pancakes I'd recommend starting out with the short stack. I went with the full stack last time and wasn't hungry for the rest of the day.
I haven't been in for lunch or dinner, but if you're looking for a good old fashioned breakfast then Jimmy's Egg on North Classen Boulevard...
Read moreLet me just say I will never go back. I ordered the smoked turkey omelet, but asked for it with out the Bell peppers. The waitress said ok and left.the food arrived fairly quickly but my omelet had TONS of peppers and we asked them to make it again without peppers. When she brought it to me I said thank you and then she asked me if I would like some more water I said yes please but when she poured the water into my glass she dripped water all over my food. My friend got a meal that came with cinnamon raisin bread but she said the crust was burnt and it wasn't sweet like she had hoped. My meal also came with fruit and a biscuit when the waitress had poured water my she pored it all over my biscuit as well. As for the fruit the grapes tasted like toxic chemicals. My omlet was bland and soggy. I will never go back to...
