Walking up to this bar I was a little unsure, it looks like a dentist office, but there was great music coming out of the door and great music can always draw me in, even if it’s a clown in the sewer, I might get it’d.
Anyways I was in shock to walk in and see such a clean bar, it almost was like a mirage in the desert, except it was a mirage by a field in Oklahoma.
This was a Thursday night and the great music was actually being sung by a beautiful woman.
I went to the bar and ordered a beer, I expected to pay $5.00 for my beer, but it was $3.00 for my longneck Bud Light! I asked are they on special and the beautiful bar tendress, stated no that was the nightly price, I left her the $2.00 in change, because it was cheaper than a beer and tip at any other place.
I scanned the crowd and it was all different types of people, I felt comfortable in my slacks and cardigan.
Before I could stand there too much longer a friendly patron at the bar started chatting with me asked my name, next thing you know we’re talking about MMA and NBA, he even bought me another beer!
This place is something very unexpected, I don’t want to age myself, but this reminds me of a show called “Cheers” growing up, everyone seemed to know everyone and if they didn’t know you, they wanted too.
There’s couches, bar seats, table, darts and a leopard covered pool table!
Never in my life have I seen a leopard covered pool table in a bar, that’s fantastic!
I definitely will be back, I would love to meet Kat, if that’s the owners real name and see why this place is...
Read moreKat's Tavern is a true hidden gem. I first heard about it through a local referral, and after a quick Google search, I decided to make the eight-mile drive to check it out. The most curious part? There’s no sign on the building indicating you’ve arrived. At first glance, it resembles a doctor’s office—just a lot of cars parked outside at 6 p.m. on a Saturday. I actually passed it before realizing, thanks to my map, that I had already arrived.
Kat's Tavern is a diamond in the rough. Inside, you'll find a mix of seasoned regulars and a younger crowd—including stunning bartenders Bernice and Caroline, who could easily pass for models. The bar doesn’t serve food, but you can order from local restaurants and have it delivered. The spacious patio is shaded from the evening sun, equipped with circulation fans, TVs, and a welcoming atmosphere.
One detail you can't miss: You can 💯 tell it’s owned by a woman (Kat) because the men’s bathroom is spotless. I didn’t check the women’s, but I’d bet it’s just as pristine.
Kat’s Tavern is small but filled with TVs at every turn. The music sets the mood perfectly—loud enough to enjoy, yet not overpowering conversations. The drink prices are the best I’ve seen in OKC, and unlike many bars in town, there’s no cigarette smoke inside—a huge plus.
Having recently moved to OKC from Dallas, I highly recommend Kat’s Tavern to anyone looking for a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back the next time the Thunder play and I will also become a regular there. It’s clean, inviting, and an...
Read moreKat’s is my go to hang out place! There is no smoking inside so you can breath. They don’t have food, but you can bring in your own and that’s the reason for 5 stars because you can have whatever you want. Heck some regulars even bring crockpots of homemade food.
There is Singo on Tuesdays and karaoke with the amazing Cate on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights with a supportive crowd so don’t be shy. They also have touch tunes to play your favorite songs.
They have a couple of bull shooter dart boards and a pool table. Also a nice big patio with part of it covered so you can be out there rain or shine. The drinks are cheap and the awesome bartenders will keep them coming!
Do yourself a favor and go grab your favorite food and have your favorite beverage at Kat’s! You’re bound to meet some cool people and hear some...
