Walking up to this bar I was a little unsure, it looks like a dentist office, but there was great music coming out of the door and great music can always draw me in, even if itâs a clown in the sewer, I might get itâd.
Anyways I was in shock to walk in and see such a clean bar, it almost was like a mirage in the desert, except it was a mirage by a field in Oklahoma.
This was a Thursday night and the great music was actually being sung by a beautiful woman.
I went to the bar and ordered a beer, I expected to pay $5.00 for my beer, but it was $3.00 for my longneck Bud Light! I asked are they on special and the beautiful bar tendress, stated no that was the nightly price, I left her the $2.00 in change, because it was cheaper than a beer and tip at any other place.
I scanned the crowd and it was all different types of people, I felt comfortable in my slacks and cardigan.
Before I could stand there too much longer a friendly patron at the bar started chatting with me asked my name, next thing you know weâre talking about MMA and NBA, he even bought me another beer!
This place is something very unexpected, I donât want to age myself, but this reminds me of a show called âCheersâ growing up, everyone seemed to know everyone and if they didnât know you, they wanted too.
Thereâs couches, bar seats, table, darts and a leopard covered pool table!
Never in my life have I seen a leopard covered pool table in a bar, thatâs fantastic!
I definitely will be back, I would love to meet Kat, if thatâs the owners real name and see why this place is...
Read moreKat's Tavern is a true hidden gem. I first heard about it through a local referral, and after a quick Google search, I decided to make the eight-mile drive to check it out. The most curious part? Thereâs no sign on the building indicating youâve arrived. At first glance, it resembles a doctorâs officeâjust a lot of cars parked outside at 6 p.m. on a Saturday. I actually passed it before realizing, thanks to my map, that I had already arrived.
Kat's Tavern is a diamond in the rough. Inside, you'll find a mix of seasoned regulars and a younger crowdâincluding stunning bartenders Bernice and Caroline, who could easily pass for models. The bar doesnât serve food, but you can order from local restaurants and have it delivered. The spacious patio is shaded from the evening sun, equipped with circulation fans, TVs, and a welcoming atmosphere.
One detail you can't miss: You can đŻ tell itâs owned by a woman (Kat) because the menâs bathroom is spotless. I didnât check the womenâs, but Iâd bet itâs just as pristine.
Katâs Tavern is small but filled with TVs at every turn. The music sets the mood perfectlyâloud enough to enjoy, yet not overpowering conversations. The drink prices are the best Iâve seen in OKC, and unlike many bars in town, thereâs no cigarette smoke insideâa huge plus.
Having recently moved to OKC from Dallas, I highly recommend Katâs Tavern to anyone looking for a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Iâll definitely be back the next time the Thunder play and I will also become a regular there. Itâs clean, inviting, and an...
Read moreKatâs is my go to hang out place! There is no smoking inside so you can breath. They donât have food, but you can bring in your own and thatâs the reason for 5 stars because you can have whatever you want. Heck some regulars even bring crockpots of homemade food.
There is Singo on Tuesdays and karaoke with the amazing Cate on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights with a supportive crowd so donât be shy. They also have touch tunes to play your favorite songs.
They have a couple of bull shooter dart boards and a pool table. Also a nice big patio with part of it covered so you can be out there rain or shine. The drinks are cheap and the awesome bartenders will keep them coming!
Do yourself a favor and go grab your favorite food and have your favorite beverage at Katâs! Youâre bound to meet some cool people and hear some...
