Very hit & miss. Lack of quality control. Sometimes it’s great & fresh, other times it’s cold & made like a 4year old. It’s like Russian roulette, especially if you do online order.
Maybe they don’t pay their employees enough, maybe they are just plain lazy idk- (not all of them of course, but 1-2 bad eggs/weak link ruin the whole chain/rope.) Maybe the owners & management can’t motivate them (which is kinda sad considering chick fil A manages to inspire their work crew) maybe it’s lack of proper management & leadership. Idk. It is sad tho.
Torchy’s will by great hot food one order & them on the next it will be cold & looks like your 6 year old niece tried cooking it for you.
Then other times it’s great. Which to me screams lack of quality control… management’s got to do a better job of managing QC, encouraging their workers with a good work environment, good pay, help with school, Like truly idk ask chickFilA what they do to inspire their employees bc it works, all the workers at Chick fil A a fast food restaurant & somehow outwardly able to maintain a good mood/positivity. Canes is similar but maybe a fraction behind CFA. Somehow ChickFilA a freaking fast food place is able to motivate them more than other places. Like Torchy’s for example. (Which imo has better food if it was just cooked right/hot.) At least Chick Fil A is fresh/ hot everytime. Maybe it’s Sundays off, maybe it’s having Christian owners vs a devil logo. Maybe it’s bad management who knows.
But it’s sad to me one of my fav restaurants has went down hill. Never had experience like this at the Edmond store but that was years back.
As a former manager I will give you a free tip that normally I would never give to a business until I was hired (bc that’s how you get hired by being knowledgeable…) anyways, get a heat lamp/heater for your Togo section. Even better would be heat from the bottom like a heat pad, & a heat lamp/food lamp. That will help you out alot. But it won’t matter if it’s not fresh to begin with or if you have a few bad employees just not caring how bad they do. Give them motivations. Set productivity/production goals for them & reward good behavior like say, reward the best performance employees every week/month. Find little ways to motivate, lead, etc. try to build up a positive work environment which may help the employees mentally but not so laid back that they don’t respect you. & don’t let a lazy employee or two ruin your whole restaurant, discipline them, retrain them or at least correct their errors/negative behaviors.
Hope it...
Read moreMy wife and I visited this place for the first time yesterday at around 3:30 PM and had a bad experience. We entered through the door closest to the bar. The bartender was just standing around and did not greet us. Her 4 customers who were sitting at the bar were already eating. We approached the front counter to place our order but there was no one there. We waited at least 10 minutes before some guy who looked like he could be the manager (more on him later) came to take our order. During those 10 minutes, there was another employee who kept messing with some dust pan. He looked at us but then just kept doing his thing. When the manager-looking guy finally came, he was less than friendly. He took our order and then went to sit a table to chat or interview some other person. Some time later our food was delivered to the table but we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked the food runner about our drinks and she just pointed at the bar. The bartender who had been standing around, left to go outside AFTER our drink order had already printed to the bar. We just kept waiting around for any other employee to inquire about our drinks while our food was getting cold. Some other lady finally came from the back and went behind the bar and made our drinks. The bartender then came back from outside and said "oh sorry, I didn't see that." During this whole time, multiple people came in and stood around waiting for someone to take their order. It was such a frustrating experience because the front was completely unattended and employees were nowhere to be found the whole time we were there. This happened at a very slow time when there were only about 2 other parties in the entire place. It made us wonder how much worse the customer experience would be at a busy time. Our food (although cold) tasted good but the terrible customer service ruined it for us. Needless to say, we won't be going back...
Read moreThe food is so tasty, but they seriously always get our order wrong. We almost exclusively order online for pickup—and less often for delivery through grubhub or similar—so maybe they are better if you order at the store. Our order is wrong roughly 80% of the time. Usually we don't complain because we like most of the tacos, and obviously they are doing something right because we keep coming back.
However, most recently, in our taco labeled "republican," we received a sausage with cheese in a flour tortilla? It was really gross, and I regret paying $4.50 for that. apparently this is actually what the Republican is. Don't assume that "sausage" means ground sausage on the menu, I guess. It tastes disgusting. We've also ordered hillbilly queso with upcharge and received regular queso multiple times. We've been shorted tacos on orders for four tacos (i.e. not large orders); we've received five tacos on orders of four; we've received the wrong tacos; we've received tacos with the wrong tortilla; and now we've received a mislabeled "taco" that wasn't even a taco. We catch most of these on pickup orders, but then we end up waiting for our order to be fixed, which is what we aimed to avoid by ordering online ahead of time.
They may have their own online ordering system, but I can't recommend it. If you do order online, I guess don't leave the building before unwrapping and checking each...
