Run the other way! Walking in you will find a friendly staff, I did. I made an appointment a week in advance to get foiled highlights and asked the cost of this process. The lady that set up my appointment said 105.00 which is about standard in the area and then told me who my stylist would be and what time. Set to go! I week later I go in for an appointment that by their request was an hour earlier. Fine I thought here we go, so I told them and showed them the picture of what I wanted...blonde highlights and low lights specifically no brassy gold red stuff. I was whizzed away for something to remove any conditioner I might have in my hair, stripping shampoo, my guess?? then they rubbed something in to remove color. Im thinking here comes the blonde must be a different process(?) but my hair looked the same (I had no artificial "color" on my hair). About 20 minutes before this whole coloring process was finished my scalp started burning, so I told my stylist, response: its just the heat from the plastic cap. Time to remove the foils I was thinking relief at last but my scalp was screaming as it was rinsed. I could barely endure the blow out as they call drying even though she used a cool setting. do you like it she asked??? My reply...NO! I had platinum highlights with red and gold ...just what I asked not to have. She was however gracious enough to give me 20% off as a new customer of my 200 dollar plus surprise. apparently removing conditioner and stripping any color they think you might have on your hair is all extra, costing as much as the highlights themselves! I called the store manager up to the front and she had no problem with this undisclosed fee that doubled the price or the red/gold hair. I paid and left in tears. Within 10 minutes my scalp was oozing from the chemical burns and I could not stand to touch my head to anything.
To sum this all up ... if you like getting what you DONT want and getting charged double for it try this place. Im pretty sure they threw the chemical burn...
Read moreI'm not sure what training the girls at the front get, but management needs to review the concept of, the customer comes first. I went there this afternoon, got a haircut and bought a few products. Got to the front and 3 girls were there, only one was checking someone out. The other 2 weren't paying attention. Then they turned around and one called me to the counter to check me out. I told her I wanted to pay for the haircut separate. Then she asked me to put in my number for points. I told her I didn't need the points. She seemed irked. She then looked to the girl behind me to ask if she wanted my points and asked for her number. Then told her she'd have to ask for it twice. So it wasn't working. The girl next to her said she had signed up 2 already(or something like that) and offered to check me out. Then my girl stands there for a minute not looking at me and then says I'll have to go to the next register or she'd have to call the manager to come do something. By this time I had been standing there a while. I asked why do I have to go to another register? To me she seemed upset she wasn't going to get some sort of credit. Then in a huff she cleared the register and just rang me up as normal. I paid for the hair cut, then she rang up the products and I paid. The no eye contact, miffed attitude wasn't a good look for this Ulta. I hope they get some better training on how to appreciate customers instead of looking just to sign people up for things...
Read moreLove the store but it became necessary to use the restroom while we were there and for a place that caters mainly to women, it was quite disgusting. I absolutely hate using public restrooms and this was a perfect example of why. The floor was nasty ,the toilet seat was .....I will just say unclean. The toilet paper was off the dispenser and sitting on the dirty floor. Then there was no soap in the dispenser, so they had placed a bottle from one of the brands they sell. Only the pump was broken and I had to unscrew the lid and dump it into my hand to wash up. Which brings me to the point of all this. I left the restrooms wondering about the staff who are encouraged to assist customers in trying out various products directly to their skin. Just how much effort are they going to to get that soap out of the bottle after using that restroom. I'm going to choose to go glass half full and to tell myself as I watch them assist my daughter that they all went the extra mile. Yet we as women have all seen how frequently other women cruise right out of the stall past the sinks and don't even bother to flush much less wash up. Think about it next time you grab up those trial tubes of make up ladies and just don't. I will finish by saying the employees were friendly and the store was tidy and...
