This Austin's location was very disappointing. I have enjoyed Austin's before but had never been here until this afternoon for lunch. When we walked in the door the manager (I'm guessing because she was not wearing the same attire as the others) very loudly began talking about how cute my 3 year old is and his curly hair. She was very over the top and overboard which had others staring at us. She kept us standing at the front for a good deal of time. Our waitress stood waiting for her to be quiet so we could be seated. We were finally seated and shortly after the manager came back over loudly going on again about my three year old. She then asked where he got his curls to which I replied "I am not sure". She then loudly while looking at my significant other said "from the mailman?". I found this extremely inappropriate coming from a stranger and from a manager at a restaurant that we took a visiting family member to. Not too mention this woman was extremely loud for all to hear! She then stuck around for a long time! She didn't take the hint that all of us were ignoring her and staring at our menus. After she finally walked away I was ready to go! But we were hungry. We sat waiting for our food hoping she wouldn't not come by again, as at this point we were irritated. While we were waiting I witnessed the same manager deliver the table next to us their food. She put the plates down then looked at the two females at that table and asks "who smells so good. I know a weird question but who smells so good". She then begins to lean towards these women one by one smelling them! You could see they also were made to feel uncomfortable! Our food comes out but it took 3 trips for us all to get our food (3adults and 1 child). So we sat with our food in front of us waiting for everyone to get their food. My 3 year old's food came out last! So of course this caused him to be upset that everyone had a plate of food but him. His food finally comes out, she sits the food right in front of my son and says "you'll want to be careful his pizza and fries just came out and are very hot, he could get burned". So I immediately push the plate away from my toddler fearing he could be burned by his meal. I then touch his food and it is barely even warm. The cheese on his pizza wasn't even melted all the way and the fries were room temperature along with the pizza. I couldn't tell you whether my meal was warm or not because it sat in front of me so long while I waited for everyone to get their food. Once finished we rushed put the door to avoid the manager stopping us again and us feeling uncomfortable again! We will not visit this location again and I am hesitant to visit Austin's...
Read moreThere is a serious management problem at this location. We've had numerous problems with food preparation and poor service with little accountability.
During Covid19 mask and social distancing mandates, we stopped eating in this restaurant because management was not enforcing employees to properly socially distance. They were also seating customers within the six-foot radius and allowing customers to tightly congregate around the bar area.
More recently, we have had issues with food preparation. When I have complained to management, the lack of attempt to get the order right or show the least amount of concern is flabbergasting. Instead, we've had management attempt to gaslight us, making it seem like the problems with the orders were in are heads. Issues have included overcooking fajitas that were ordered medium rare (was told they didn't look medium rare due to marinade, but I obviously know the difference between overcooked and a marinade dulling the appearance of the meat), failing to properly drain marinade from the fajitas prior to preparing them (leaving them swimming in a vinegary liquid and was told that was normal by management; it isn't) which made them uneatable, leaving certain vegetables that come with dishes completely off of the plate (e.g. no fajita onions or peppers), ordering items gluten-free only to have the kitchen disregard the allergy (e.g. gravy on potatoes, bread served with order, etc), and messing up drink orders.
The last time we ate here, they made my order incorrect twice. My spouse was finished eating while I was still waiting for my order. I told the male manager on duty to forget making it a second time. So, I left without eating. He obviously should have made some attempt to reconcile the problem, even if it included removing my beverage from the order. Instead, he only removed the item that never came out right. And, I had to ask him to remove my order that never came out right from the check. . .
I wrote a note on the signed receipt for Liz (the general manager), and I came home and e-mailed her as well as the owner (Brandon). I never received an e-mail back from Brandon, and I only received one back from Liz days later. She asked me to call her back, I tried and left a message. To date, I haven't heard from her.
I'm also appalled to read the reviews from (what it looks like) prior female employees. After our experiences and reading these reviews, I sincerely doubt we'll eat at Austin's...
Read moreItâs sad to see how this place has changed. And none for the better. I used to come on my lunch breaks. It was a great spot to sit and grab a beer while trying one of their daily specials. The food wasnât always of consistent quality wise but it was easy to get over with how amazing everything else seemed. One thing I enjoyed most was how quickly you became familiar with the staff when youâre coming in that early. I always had the same 2 Waitresses. I saw the same bartender and manager there. About a year ago I noticed a quick decline in service. It was always a new waitress/someone I didnât recognize at the door and serving other tables but my familiar girls were still there which reassured me. These newer girls were often uneducated on the menu, slow, or just seemed like theyâd rather be anywhere else but serving me. Over time prices went up while service continued to go down. Soon enough both my regular waitresses left. Their service was top-notch. Always made a point to talk and get to know me, especially on slower days. As an older guy, I appreciated the company. I stopped going after they left. It seemed pointless to go if I knew the service would be lackluster. I came back a few weeks ago and not a single person in there besides the bartender looked familiar. Seems theyâre firing/driving away any employees with competence. With all the new prices and changes to this place itâs evidently clear the top priority for who ever owns this dump is far more concerned on the size of their wallet than customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. Itâs sad to say I will not...
