Here's the deal - this place has good food, in general I like IHOP, and this particular one is closest to my home and a favorite location. However, seemingly since the pandemic, service hasn't been great. I've only done mobile, carryout orders since the pandemic, so dining in may be a different experience.
For my past 3 or 4 orders there, something has gone wrong. Most of the time, it's been that my meal was missing things. For example, the southwest skillet came as literally scrambled eggs - no cheese, avocado, or salsa. Other times, it's been that it's taken longer than it should have for the order to be ready.
Last night, it was a case of not being handed what was supposed to be my order until 10 or more minutes beyond when I was told it would be ready...and then it was someone else's order. I suppose it's on me for not checking the order before going home. Upon returning the order to pick up our actual order, the guy said he tried to catch me...but I had actually gone slowly to the car, and then had to get back out and put the order in the back - if he had tried to catch me, he would have. Our actual order had then been just sitting there while I drove home initially, so that it was cold.
While I was there waiting, the guy who eventually gave me what was supposed to be my order was handed a cell phone to talk with someone, and in that discussion he mentioned that every weekend they're shorthanded and slammed, so this could easily be a big part of why things aren't going well with their service.
I tend to be pretty lenient and forgiving when it comes to service, but at this point they've burned out my goodwill for a while; I'll be waiting a while before giving them another chance, but because I know that they have a history of being good, they will indeed get...
Read moreProblem: online order was 30 minutes late and missing pancakes. Order: 1 pancake combo, 1 chx and waffles, 1 cinna minions We usually don't have many issues with this location. We ordered online with a ready time of 10:47pm. Waited in lobby until 11:25pm to get our food. Other people in the lobby were complaining about not getting seated. Did a quick check to make sure there were 3 meals in the bag (saw 3 containers) but didn't pull everything out to check since the lobby was full. One of our orders was a pancake combo and found out when we got home that the PANCAKES of all things were missing. So we try to call up there to ask for a refund/credit/whatever (we're not keen to drive back there) and it took forever for anyone to answer the phone. Not a big deal, I know they're busy. A guy answers and says something like "oh yea no problem we can do that" and then hangs up. Ok, maybe it was an accident or something...so we call back immediately. Again, it takes forever for someone to answer but the same guy answers the phone and we explain again what happened. This time he says to just ask for the manager next time we are in to get free pancakes. Didn't take a name or anything. As if just asking for free pancakes with no identifying information the next time we go to IHOP is going to work. Listen, I get that everywhere is having staffing issues and it's the only place open so late, so I'm taking that in consideration while I leave this review. However, we will not be returning to this location and I hope they really get things figured out for future customers. I cut my losses for those pancakes and just made some at home the next...
Read moreThis experience was absolutely terrible! We walked in and waited at the front door for about 8-10 minutes. We didn't know if we needed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated since we were not greeted. After waiting we decided to ask a server if we seat ourselves and she said she was cleaning tables and it was said with attitude. I have been in the food industry for many years and I understand right now restaurants are understaffed, but all the server had to do was say hey I will be with you guys in a minute. If she didn't want to greet us then when we asked if we seat ourselves she could have not responded with the attitude she gave us. As we sat down we were pretty upset with how we were treated and were vocal that we were wanting a different server. Come to find out the other server was her mom, who gave us even more attitude and said we didn't have to eat there...So we left. The people waiting behind us even apologized to us and I noticed they walked out shortly after we had. By far one of the worst experiences I've ever had and very disappointed in the serving staff at this IHOP. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because I do understand the stresses of working short staffed and the stressors as a server but this behavior was completely inappropriate and a terrible...
