Mi Ranchito — Restaurant in Olathe

Always LOVE the food here. Salsa is amazing, everything is always cooked well, and wait staff is attentive. However, my last visit was disappointing. I made a reservation for 15 people for a Friday night dinner for my birthday. I realize Friday night is one of the busiest nights of the week, but I made the reservation four days in advance. I was also told when I got there that my reservation was the only one they’d received all day. Upon arrival, I was told they didn’t have my reservation on file, only to find out that it was put under a completely different name. Not a huge biggie, but I was then told that they did not have a big table prepared for us and we had two options - either split up into two booths or wait 20-30mins for another party to finish eating and leave. We ended up taking the two booths. Extremely disappointed I was not able to sit with all my friends for my birthday, despite the fact that I made a reservation ahead of time and was the only reservation they had for the day. Last minute decision to go to this location because we wanted to sit outside. They have a very nice outside area and it was a perfect evening to do just that. The downside was we had a party of ladies celebrating something next to us and they were all talking at the top of their voices and often at the same time, so it was noisy. The chips and salsa came out right away and then we even got a little bit of refried beans that we requested. But then it probably was at least 20 minutes before our waiter came back to take the order and the food didn't come for another 15 minutes or so. (They were quite busy) Needless to say, by the time we got our food about half of it went into a to-go box because we didn't discipline ourselves to stop eating the chips and salsa! We had their nachos at my friends recommendation, with the fajita chicken. They are really good as they don't just way out a bunch of chips and then plop stuff over the group. Each chip is individually covered with refried beans cheese etc. Really good and now I am convinced that I have to change the method I use to make nachos at home! Definitely recommend...

We have been here every time and day of the week. Each time it has been busy. The to-go option is suggested if you do not want to brave the claustrophobia of sitting so close to the other tables. The staff could use some better directions. The crew members themselves are very friendly but they need better organized. The most recent experience we had was on a Monday night. Our server looked so frazzled but played it off so well. We had been asked several different times if the food was ours, by other staff members that had been delivering the food. This is not the first time that's happened at this location. As we were waiting for the correct food to be handed to us, we witnessed a separate table finish their food and wait very patiently for boxes to arrive. During that time, the staff had enough time to get together to sing to another table, attempt to hand them and us the wrong food twice, and the waitress gave them extra water but no boxes. The food is great and worth the wait, but the management needs to step up...
