I don't think I've ever had a problem shopping in-store or doing returns for anything bought in-store.
However, I'll NOT be shopping ONLINE again after yesterday's return experience. I bought over $300 worth of crafts and needed to return like 8-10 items, mostly small ones that weren't very well made.
I had both my printed receipt from the shipping box AND my digital receipt in my email. Even so, the CSR said they have to do the return as if it were non-receipted. Well, turns out that means they have to look up prices and item numbers on everything and then type it all in manually. Guess their systems don't talk to each other. That part isn't their fault... I understand.
But the process was made MUCH more difficult and time consuming by the supervisor who had taken over for the CSR... about 2 min into the process.
My emailed receipt had the same order number, all the same details, and PHOTOS. It was quick and easy for me to find each item, and I offered to read off the details to her. She gave some excuse but basically was REFUSING to use the email receipt... even though she was doing it NON-receipted anyways!
I was genuinely trying to be friendly and patient. For time first 10 minutes. I even sided with both of them, saying how frustrating it must be to be in their shoes, that they need to be given better systems.
But I did eventually admit at the end of my return (about 12-13 min from the moment I first spoke to the CSR) that this process made me doubt I'd be shopping online with Michael's again. Their competitors have significantly easier processes for the customer.
We'll, that just ticked off the supervisor, I guess. She NEVER apologized for any frustration on my part, acknowledged or appreciated my efforts to try to help them make this quicker for the LINE behind me, or for the time it took for me in store. And she never made eye contact with me again. She very curtly instructed me to insert my card and I'd be getting $xx. "Goodbye."
Honestly, after typing this out, this makes me doubt I even want to shop in-store ever again. Target, Hobby Lobby, and many other places just...
Read moreIt's ok. Not as good as Hobby Lobby in my opinion or as many options either. Definitely more expensive and the staff is very rude & not friendly at all. They are fake. Personally witnessed a manger -like employee standing in an isle the weekend before Valentine's Day, when it was snowing pretty good outside. She was speaking with two other employees, complaining about customers not reading a sign posted on the door about using the other door. Bad mouthing the customers, referring to them as idiots & had a very snotty attitude. Then continued about the extra work she was now going to have to do. As she was cussing & walking away from them, she turned & ran smack into my cart. Her big "oh no, did you hear that?" eyes & fake, "hi, are you finding everything ok?" question was a waste of breath. That was when I left everything in my cart & left. If a business is going to employee people that are going to act that way in front of customers, AND have them in a management role, they will not be receiving a penny of my money. Ever! I will not return & I will be sure to let everyone I know exactly what I heard & saw when I was there....

And a young lady with multicolored hair said very rudely "what are you looking for" I said I know its close to closing I am looking for 16 gage wire for wrapping jewelry, sh4 then went out of the isle and yelled "you have 4 minutes." So I put down the 200 dollar of items in my hand and left. I own a business and if she worked for me I would fire her. I was litterally running through the store to get what I needed. I had a friend who also owns a business with me and she did not make her purchases either. We both spend ALOT of money here, we will find somewhere else to spend our money. Btw at 30 something rainbow bright hair is unprofessional, isnt there a dress and hygiene code in your policy, I could have driven to the dollar tree in Wyandotte and had more polite...
