WingStand by Jefferson's—Olathe — Restaurant in Olathe

We stopped by Jefferson’s Wing Stand in Olathe for a lunch to go and were pretty impressed. My son ordered the boneless wings and immediately declared the Angry Ranch sauce his new favorite—it had a bold kick with a creamy finish, and he didn’t say much while eating, which is usually a good sign.

My wife and I split the smash burger and the Swiss aioli chicken sandwich combo. The smash burger was excellent—perfectly seasoned, nicely seared, and topped with thick-cut pickles, fresh lettuce, and tomato. It had that satisfying crisp edge you hope for in a good smash burger, and it hit all the right notes.

The chicken sandwich was also a standout. The fried chicken breast was large, juicy, and well-cooked with a crispy breading. It came topped with Swiss cheese, thick pickles, and a flavorful garlic aioli. The sandwich had a nice balance and didn’t feel overly heavy despite its size.

Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. Definitely a solid spot for wings and...

Just tried Wingstand in Olathe for the first time tonight - did an online order for pickup for a group of 5.

First - I noticed a couple of complaints in the reviews about wait time. I get that it's frustrating, but the volume of orders this team was cranking out was insane. This crew was HUSTLING - and even though our order was a few minutes late, everything was fresh, hot, and there were no mistakes on the order. A little wait is the price you pay when they are hand breading stuff to order.

The fries were a 10/10, and the corn nuggets and mac-n-cheese were both very good. We got a couple burgers, and those were also excellent. The kids loved the boneless wings and tenders, and I think the spicy parm/garlic wings I tried might be the best boneless wings I've had.

• update - Joe, the owner gave me a call and seemed very receptive to my feedback regarding setting guest expectations and staff communication. If I were local to the area I would be willing to give the restaurant another shot. *

Walked in to order, my first hint to turn around should have been the 10 other people waiting in the lobby. But I ordered anyway, was quoted 15 minutes. Then I learned that everyone else was waiting 30+ minutes. Even people who had ordered online.

It got to the point where people actually CHEERED when someone actually received their order.

After 45 minutes I asked for a refund, they finally had my order ready.

The wings are just fine. But not "stand around for 45+...
