I wish I was here to leave a review about the food - but unfortunately I was not able to have any. My best friend comes here with her boyfriend all the time, and when she and I were making dinner plans she suggested we come here. We waited a good 8-10 minutes before the server Bobby came and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We asked to see a cocktail menu. We looked over the menu and decided to order two glasses of Moscato. The server asked to see our IDs, looked at them, and said âyou know, I really wouldnât even know if these were fake or notâ. We laughed about it although it was already a little awkward. He walked away, and when he came back he told us that he was sorry but he would not be serving us alcohol because he believed our IDs were fake. He said that compared to his ID, ours were ânot as thinâ. We told him that we were in fact of age and they are definitely real IDs, and showed him our credit/debit cards and school IDs. He asked to see our passports, to which we responded that we do not just casually carry our passports around with us as that is careless and unsafe. He continued to refuse us service and said he would get his manager if we wanted that. We agreed that he should get his manager. The manager, Ray I believe, treated us exactly the same. He took my friend's ID, and the whole staff stood in a circle comparing their IDs to hers. At this point we already knew we were leaving, we were extremely uncomfortable. We said âyou can call the police, you can scan the IDs, whatever you have to do, our IDs are validâ, and the manager just kept laughing and saying he was not going to call the police. My friend said âMy boyfriend and I come here all the time, I am really upset about this because I used to love it hereâ to which the manager responded, âOh, really?â like he was bored of the whole thing. When we said âOkay, we are going to leaveâ he said âAw, Iâm sorry guysâ. This is EXTREMELY poor management and HIGHLY under-trained staff. There was no attempt to diffuse the situation and make it better. How are you running a restaurant AND BAR and you donât know the difference between a real and fake ID?!?! Do you not have a scanner or a black light or a book to refer to or ANY way to make sure you are serving the correct people aside from standing around comparing your customers ID to your staff? Just unbelievable. I work at a restaurant and we are retrained every 6 months on valid identification and how to handle a situation like that correctly. We were outwardly discriminated against because we look young and REFUSED SERVICE, regardless of showing multiple forms of ID. We will never be back here and will be making sure that no one we know ever comes here unless they want to be treated like trash. As I mentioned, we also work in the service industry and tip our fellow servers generously, always....
Read moreI am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I really enjoyed the shrimp oreganata entree I ordered, but the rest of the experience was really embarrassing. We have come to this restaurant for several celebrations, but this recent experience was definitely different. Our reservation was for 7:15pm. We waited 20 minutes sitting at our table and yet no one had come over to greet us. I finally approached a waiter that was working another table and asked if a server was coming over to take our order. He apologized and said he would get the server. We waited a few more minutes and a server came over and apologized that there was a miscommunication and she thought a different server had our table. We brushed it off and ordered our drinks. She said she could not take our appetizer order until the drinks came out?? We waited another 15-20 minutes and we still didnât get our drinks. Overall 35-40 minutes to get drinks since we had been sitting at the table and still couldnât put our food order in. After we finally put our food order in, we overheard another waitress reading the list of specials to a table next to us. We didnât have the specials read to us, so we really felt bad at this point like we werenât being treated right. When the waitress came over and I told her we werenât read the specials, she shockingly said to me âOh I know, I didnât think you guys wanted to hear the specials since you had already waited so long for your drinks.â What??? That was so unacceptableâŚâŚ. She said she would go get the specials and read them to us, but she never came back. Iâm assuming they had already started making our food, so she didnât bother. We tried to let it slide and to enjoy the rest of our time. The appetizers were good. When our entrees came out, all of the dishes came out except for my auntâs dish, and it was her birthday that we were celebrating. So we felt bad and waited a couple minutes until her dish came out. The manager comes over and whispers to her that her dish fell on the floor and that it would be another 10-15 minutes to make a new one. She told us all to go ahead and eat and she would just wait. We felt so bad. About 20 minutes went by and she still didnât have her dish. He came back over and said it would still be a few minutes. She told him to just wrap it up at this point and that we wanted to leave. The manager then came over and offered for us to split some desserts on him, but we said no thanks we just want the check, so that we can leave because we have a birthday cake back at the house. The manager did the right thing in the end and took $100 off the bill, but the experience was still too embarrassing and messy. I doubt we will...
Read moreWe were greeted with a smile, seated quickly on a Friday for lunch. I chose this restaurant because they had a Panella sandwich, which I haven't had in years, last time being years ago in Brooklyn. We ordered: Panella sandwich with ricotta & saved Parm, Clam pizza, Margarita pizza, mixed house salad with grilled shrimp. Water was poured after we were seated, lunch & dinner menus handed out. Our waitress was very nice but seemed to disappear throughout our visit. I'm guessing she was doing double or triple duty that day. The food arrived, the salad very fresh but missing the grilled shrimp. The pizzas both were okay. Really not great unfortunately. Not very crispy, chewy kind of dry. Flavor was there just kind of muted. The Panella sandwich well I didn't care for it. Very bland , mushy and disappointing. My fault the photos didn't match what I'd had in the past. We finally got our waitress to ask about the missing shrimp, she apologized profusely and said she'd get that taken care of. When the shrimp came they were perfectly seasoned & grilled, we all agreed the grilled shrimp & house salad were the best things we had. I'd also like to mention upon being seated we were brought warm bread & herbed oil for dipping and that was great. Over all, great atmosphere, friendly service, but hard to locate during meal for extras or missing things, but I really think our waitress was cooking as well as serving. She did it with a genuine smile throughout our visit. Go for the ambiance. Have a glass of wine, a house salad with grilled shrimp and the wonderful warm bread &...
