Red Door Market and Deli — Restaurant in Old Orchard Beach

Certainly don’t understand all the hype about this place. On vacation at Old Orchard beach this week and was in the mood for an Italian sub. Searched for “best Italian sub” near me and this place came up. I spent time reading all the five star reviews and decided to order what I expected to be amazing sandwiches. There are 4 of us vacationing together so we ordered a godfather, 2 antipasto spinach wraps and a turkey blt. The quality of the sub roll was terrible and it was stale to boot. All of the sandwiches had very little filling and each was loaded with more shredded lettuce than any other ingredient. The place was not busy when I arrived for the order so the quality wasn’t lacking due to chaos or a staff shortage. I also picked up a side of potato salad that was described as homemade. This place just keeps getting better and better...and they cater! We've used their services twice for catering needs, one for our kids birthday party (in house smoked pulled pork sliders, pesto tortellini, mac and cheese, chicken, etc...not the typical pizza and chips people throw for their kids), and again for our families bridal party (a full out mexican fiesta spread with all the fixings). The only downside to this place is they post too much good food, and im gaining weight just by watching all of it haha. Not only does this food SLAP…but the people who own it take so much pride in what they do. You can see it in the quality of product and quality of service just how amazing this place is. Technically the business they replaced had been there for a long time and left a strong impression on me from growing up in that area. I had no idea what to expect walking in the first time. They instantly found a spot in my heart and they seamlessly filled the void of the previous business that used to reside there.
