To the girl working at the register this morning, June 5: today is our first day in OOB, and my birthday. My family and I walked to this cafe this morning intending to get coffee and breakfast, but noticed the masks required sign outside. As we had only one mask, not anticipating masks being required, I went in to see what I wanted while my husband waited outside with our boys. When the line grew behind me I decided to place our order and run out to get my husband’s credit card. While I ordered, not only were you were not wearing a mask, but you rolled your eyes in annoyance when I asked about children’s steamers and wanted to order food, and then belittled and embarrassed me when I tried to hand you my card after coming back in (thinking you wanted to close out that transaction right away before moving on to the next customers). I grew up in a similar beach resort town as this one in DE, and also worked at coffee shops there as a teenager. I know what it’s like to deal with obnoxious tourists and I am not one of them. Overall the food and coffee at this cafe was fine and the other employees seemed very nice, but we will likely not be returning during the rest of our visit thanks to my experience...
Read moreLong line but moved pretty quickly. Staff was very friendly. I had a cold brew coffee and cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. I got my cold brew with oat milk (no extra charge) and caramel syrup. Cold brew coffee was OK but it came out quickly. It was all smooth as I’ve had at other cafés, but it got the job done. My bagel took about 10 minutes to come out and as that was a little longer than expected, there was a high volume of foot traffic. I asked for a toasted bagel but when received it wasn’t toasted. I let them know and they immediately went to make a new one with no sauce. But apparently I have the last cinnamon raisin so I got everything in place. The bagel was good. Both the coffee and the bagel are good, not outstanding but I would get it again as it’s probably the best local place to get these items. The true winner was the staff. The gentleman announcing numbers was doing so with some musical flare. The decor was...
Read moreI’ve stopped into Cafe 64 a couple times during my stay in OOB and I have to say it’s a pretty great spot. I’ve tried their lemon poppy muffin, açaí bowl, iced + hot coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Breakfast sandwich was fantastic, açaí bowl was okay (a little too sweet. Maine squeeze in Portland, ME is my favorite for açaí bowls), coffee was great but could be stronger and the muffin was just okay. I was taking the train this morning and stopped into Beach Bagels (across from Cafe 64) for a sandwich and coffee - I was extremely disappointed and don’t recommend. I had some time left so I ran over to Cafe 64 and they did not disappoint! Thank goodness for their breakfast sandwiches. Lots of flavor and made with real egg (no microwaving as opposed to BB across the street). I recommend this cute little cafe for anyone. Employees are friendly and welcoming. I’ll be back in the future!...
