Guadalajara Grill — Restaurant in Olive Branch

When I eat Mexican food this where I usually go. I've never paid attention to the price, I usually just pay and sign. Today, 4/27/24, I paid more attn to the price. I inquired about it. I asked what the nca fee was for, and she said card. I said, "How is the food a different price than what you originally said?" I asked for a receipt, as opposed to only the card receipt. It took the young lady a min to print the receipt as she was tapping on the screen trying her best to come up with a price that matched, but was unsuccessful. Again, the price on the receipt was higher than the card receipt. I tried getting an explanation, and I asked which receipt was the correct one. She said the receipt she had just given me which was the itemized receipt. I said we'll, that's not what you charged. I asked again, so which receipt is the correct receipt, and she pointed to the card receipt. I said to her, "You just said the other one (itemized) was the correct one." She did not know what to say or think. The manager and a waiter were standing there also, and the manager could not explain. The waiter looked at it and could not as well. Everyone was looking crazy and dumb in the face. I told them not to be trying to sneak extra charges in there for more money because I know how much taxes are, and I also know how to do math, and it did not equal out to the charge she gave me with taxes and nca charge. I only gave this place one star because it was the only way I could write a review. First of all, the waitress was very rude. My cousin was placing an order and in the midst of her ordering the waitress said hold on to take care of another customer sitting at a table. The tea was nasty and unsweet. The food was not good as well. The waitress threw our receipts on the table and then walked off. We asked to speak with a manager but to our surprise. The servers informed us there wasn't a manager in the restaurant. We then approached the counter to pay for the food. My cousin asked to speak with a manager once again and to not swipe her card until she speak with one. The server ignored her request and proceeded to swipe it anyway. Words were exchanged and he told us to deal with it. We told them they are very rude and we will never eat there again. This particular restaurant has very bad customer service. It was probably not the best time for us to have come to this restaurant. In the moment we came in we noticed a very unpleasant smell which seemed to be either paint of some sort or newly waxed floors.

The smell was the most unpleasant part of my experience in this restaurant. Our waiter seemed to be uncomfortable too for some reason, it might have been the same reason as stated above.

Overall the waiter did what he was supposed to do regardless if he felt uncomfortable for what ever reason.

I feel like normally this doesn’t happen at this restaurant. It was simply a bad time for us to have visited. This is the reason that I will not be giving a low rating.
