Last month, I called to book a private party for my daughter, hoping to rent out the entire building. I spoke with a woman who told me that the man responsible for birthday party bookings wouldn’t be available until the following Thursday. She took my name and number, assuring me that she would pass my information along to him. Now, a month later, I still haven't received a call.
I recently called again on Tuesday and spoke with a man named Charlie. He informed me that I need to go online to book the private room. I explained that I would prefer to come in and book it in person because if I booked online, I would have to pay the full price upfront, and I only wanted to secure my spot and time. Charlie mentioned that the woman who handles the parties would be back the next day (Wednesday). I found this confusing, as the previous woman I spoke with clearly indicated that a man was in charge of party bookings.
The next day, I went in to secure my deposit. The lady working in afterschool care told me that Charlie, who supposedly oversees the parties, wouldn’t be in until Thursday. This left me puzzled because I had just spoken to someone on Tuesday, who stated that the woman in charge wouldn’t be available until Thursday. The afterschool care lady insisted that no one else could book parties except for Charlie. She took my name and number and said she would have the owner reach out to me, because at this point I don’t want to deal with LIEING CHARLIE
Fast forward to today, Thursday, and I still haven’t spoken with anyone. I called again, and the afterschool care lady answered. I provided her with my name and mentioned that I had come in on Tuesday. She quickly recognized who I was and put me on hold.
When she returned, she told me that Charlie had come in but left because he was ill. I was puzzled as to why he would bother to come in if he was feeling unwell.
Furthermore, I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM the owner.
The afterschool care lady then informed me that the time I requested for the party can’t be rented out. However, that’s not what the website states. According to the site, I can choose between 11:45 that morning or 6:15 that evening.
At this point mam goodbye because I don’t want to get angry!
I really can’t make this up!

Read moreSkate Odyssey used to be a great place to go to skate. I don’t know if they were bought out, but they’ve done away with roller blades, speed skates, and the willingness to tighten or loosen your wheels so you don’t break your neck. I’ve been skating for over thirty years, and the lack of simple accommodations for a reasonable family experience is pitiful at best. These are the same types of skates that have been around for decades, and I was given a lecture on how bearings work instead of having these tightened a bit so I don’t break a bone helping the kids learn how to skate. I understand not wanting to damage the rentals, but that’s part of what has always been an accommodation for the consumer. I also don’t appreciate the staff not addressing the kids cutting people off at insane speeds, falling on purpose, and going the...
Read moreI’m giving this place 2 stars because for as busy as it gets, and as many young child birthday parties they host every weekend …they do not have floor attendants keeping the safety / structure of the experience.
There’s no reason they don’t have a staff maintaining the correct direction of travel around the rink, as well as stopping unsafe practices such as adults skating with infants while kids are falling left and right on the floor. Additionally, there isn’t anywhere for a parent to SIT and watch their child skate so you pretty much have to stand the entire time OR just not have eyes on your child.
Additionally the skate floor is dirty so you find your wheels getting stuck on random items on the floor.
Staff have always been very friendly, but the safety aspect is...
