Following friends and family for after-church Sunday lunch, one will with time try out the dozen or so Mexican Restaurants around Olive Branch. They all have good Food and very similar service, fast, friendly and attentive. Some even have just about identical menus, as if they were picked from the same Mexican Menu warehouse. So how to really know which one is better than the other? Three things: Details that transform "Good" into "Great". Attentive service. Consistency, visit after visit. So let's review today's experience: Starting with a friendly welcome and a Server that miraculously knows exactly who you are looking for to seat with, is a promising sign for a quality experience. But famished, all 4 of us devoured our chips and Queso Blanco in minutes and we had to ask twice for more chips. Detail. The second basket did not come until our entrees were served. The Queso was really diluted today, a rare issue; Detail. Perhaps they were running low and had to make the batch last through Sunday's rush. My Steak Ranchero was cooked perfect, exactly medium, as I enjoy it. Sauce was generous and balanced but the portion of rice and refried beans was unusually small. Detail. It did not outlast my steak and as my Father in Law would say: "I did not come out even". So overall, my meal was good and the service friendly enough (helped by my light conversation in my aging Spanish). But today, there were too many missed opportunities to make this meal so excellent that I am giving our experience only a 3 out of 5. Will I come back? Probably, especially if someone says "Let's do Mis Pueblos" today. But in this very competitive field, we Customers, can expect and easily obtain more attentive Service in one of many local Mexican Restaurants, so Mis Pueblos does not make my top list of Mexican Restaurants in...
Read moreI get takeout here at least twice a week!! Not much on changing around on the menu (although my husband gets all kinds of good stuff and I get a bite of his ..they have excellent shrimp , which surprises me being a Mexican restaurant, but it is very good ! I like the burrito beef Special- I love the rice and beans and I love the little salad- it’s just awesome I won’t say my order has not gotten mixed up before, but,my bad for not checking before I leave … I have taken it back, and they gladly give me what I was supposed to have. Mistakes do happen ..I can tell you they’re never busy to the point you have to wait and wait. I don’t live but five minutes away and it’s always ready when I get there. I think they do a great job-on taking care of people quickly .I really don’t have complaints and I think we all should check our food before we leave when we pick up to go food -because … nobody’s perfect-i’m not going to stop going because they “do have great food- it’s awesome!!!” I now “try” to remember, Always check my order everywhere I go !”… it’s not just here, it’s everywhere orders “occasionally” can be wrong, get mixed up. That’s as honest as I can be,”I love...
Read moreComing from California, I've eaten a lot of authentic Mexican cuisine, and this was that. I was with two locals.
To be perfectly honest, we were supposed to meet at another Mexican restaurant down the road, but my dear friend provided us with the wrong name of the restaurant, so it was what it was.🤷🏽♀️ So we stayed.
I ordered a grill chicken salad in a crispy fried tostada shell. It contains lettuce, cheese, rice, pinto beans, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. I thoroughly enjoyed my food, and yes, my margarita. 🍹
My friends, well, their experience wasn't like mine. One ordered the white cheese dip, which was quite salty, so she didn't eat much of it, and the other friend's spinach w chicken dish was salty, too. She returned it for a no salt version of the same dush of which was eatable. The rice and beans on her dish and my salad were perfectly seasoned. The bottomless warm chips and salsa hit the...
