I stayed here for about 4 weeks back in November and had always been meaning on writing a review. They had only just recently opened up, being newly built, and I was one of the first to reserve and stay here. Immediately I could see the staff were really nice from getting checked in, and I was surprised by the gift of assorted cheeses and some strawberries they had on a tray prepared for me in my room. A rather tasty gift indeed. And the room was rather comfortable with good heat controls too. Given that they did only just recently open up, there were problems with the building as you'd expect, and there were a few things the staff team weren't familiar with and had to learn on the fly. That's the only thing keeping me from giving this a 5-star review, and the friendliness of the staff is the only reason I'm giving it 4. Anything else had have happened and it would be 3 stars. I will say, the housekeeping staff almost made me give it 3 stars anyway as on the final night of my second week staying there, they kept knocking on my door and opening it despite the locked upper latch, and then proceeded to call me when that didn't work. 3 open door attempts and 1 phone call, all while I was trying to sleep. My new job is an overnight shift, so I didn't get to my room until 6am, and at 8 and 10am they're constantly knocking and trying to get me up, despite the front desk staff all knowing I leave late and get back super early in the morning, so I sleep through the morning. After the phone call, I did finally get up and start packing to leave. On my way out, one of the front desk staff said I could have stayed longer to rest up more since they weren't busy. Basically rubbed salt in my tired eyes. But, despite that, it was an overall good experience. Took me a while to realize they offered breakfast in the morning since I usually got back right before they started serving, and I always went straight to my room to sleep. On a final positive note, even though they weren't familiar with handling the reward program Best Western offers, they were very patient and did what they could to get everything resolved. And when I had to get an extra night's stay at the last minute, they worked with me to get that fee taken care of, as you have to reserve in advanced to use your rewards points, which I wasn't aware of. As I said ,the friendliness of the staff is what really put this place over the top for me, outside that one housekeeping incident. The building itself still had some kinks that needed to be worked out since it was new. I'm sure they'll have everything in working order soon, though. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is tasty, and the staff are great. Plus you have the convenience of Walmart...
Read moreService was for the most part great but i asked for a higher floor in the notes when i booked but was placed on the first floor which was no No problem! I specifically booked this hotel because of the 2 tvs in the room because I’ve stayed before but upon arrival and seeing my room didn’t have both tvs i immediately wanted to change rooms because that’s what i specifically booked for along with the sofa bed because thats what the picture displayed ! I asked to be moved to another room, and was granted the request! But was also informed the hotel was removing the 2 tv option but was banking on a room that still had it available and i saw the hotel was busy that day and didn’t want to be on the first floor with so much traffic! So anyway the receptionist granted my room change to the 4th floor, PERFECT! So me and my family gathered our things and went to the 4th floor only to find a much smaller room, no sofa bed, only a chair and i was like this is worse than the original because if not the tvs i still needed the sofa bed for my boys ! Immediately called and voiced my concern about the cramped room and can we go back to the original for more space, receptionist informed me she had sold it ! It had only been about 5-10 mins top, i was livid at this point! She stated the room i booked was a king room and the room i originally booked was the only one with the sofa bed, like whatttt why was i not informed before the move, i wouldve stayed so i had to deal with this cramped room with me, my boyfriend and our 2 boys ! The bathroom was TRASH, i mean absolutely garbage! I asked to upgrade to 2 queens rooms but she said i couldnt because i booked thru 3rd party and i would have to basically buy the room separately! I mean it didn’t make sense whatsoever to me to not be accommodated in some sort especially when i had kids in a 1 bed basic room! Never going back! Ask questions upon arrival (for example: Does the elevator work? Because they won't tell you, and if you're handicap or disabled they'll put you on the 3rd or 4th floor).
They have a nice indoor pool. Too much chlorine in it sometimes but still a nice pool and something to do other than sit in your room.
They do have waterbugs and other insects that hang out in the bathroom. If you ask for another room they just move you next door to the room you were just in. Great way to take your mind off the Huge Cockroach in the next room! And nobody comes to kill it or spray. How convenient!
Staff is friendly upon arrival, but after they've taken your money friendly staff where?? The older lady that works in the morning is rude when I sent my teenagers down for breakfast. They both made waffles and got other foods like yogurt etc. If you have a teenager, you know they eat alot. But telling them "that's too much food" and "you better eat it too" is a comment you should have kept to yourself. 1 waffle, 2 sausage and yogurt aint even alot.....Now my children feel some type of way about returning to this particular location. Also, if you order food from any delivery company, they're not allowed to bring the food to your door. You have to go to the lobby and get it yourself! And they don't ask the driver which room, so keep an eye out for your food.
