We tried to eat at Red Fish in Olive Branch last night and had a terrible experience.
We arrived at 8:05 to sit at the bar for one drink and order a meal to go. The restaurant was completely empty except for two couples at the bar. There were 4 or 5 employees at the hostess booth sitting down and a bartender at the bar.
We sit down at the bar with no acknowledgment for about 5-7min. No biggie! My wife finally asks for a drink menu. The bartender ignored her. She asks again. He continues to ignore her as he converses with another couple at the bar. She asks a third time. He looks at his watch with an attitude, grabs a drink menu and literally tosses it on the counter in front of her and goes back to the other couple. He said absolutely nothing to us. At this point I was ready to go.
My wife then says, “Excuse me, what time do you close? He said 30 min and immediately turned his back to her. Google and their door said they close at 9. Ok cool I’m ready to go.
We get up and head to the door and I decide to ask for a manager. One of the employees points to the bartender. Go figure. So I walk up to him and say, it was not great customer service to not only ignore us but to act as if we were bothering you just by being here. This man literally threw his hands up and YELLED at me and said “YOU JUST GOT HERE!l”
I just said it wasn’t even the wait time that’s the problem even thought the restaurant is empty, it’s the attitude. This man threw his hands up and shook his head like “I don’t know what to tell you baby” and said welllllll……😂😂😂 and I’m laughing now about it because I’m just outdone. I simply said it’s advice and as a manager behaving the way you are…. You should definitely take it.
We went down to MAMA ROSA and had a great experience! The bartender and hostess were very polite and the food was...
Read moreMy two daughters and I recently dined at Red Fish for the first time. The food was enjoyable, and our server, Ava, provided pleasant and attentive service. Our bill totaled $75.96, and we left a $15 cash tip on the table, clearly noting on the signed receipt (in pink ink) that the tip was left in cash.
This morning we checked our bank account , and noticed we had been charged $91.15 an overcharge of $15.19 beyond the bill. I was concerned about this discrepancy, we contacted the restaurant for clarification.
While the front staff acknowledged that this may have been an honest mistake, the individual who identified himself as the owner, manager, and bartender responded with a concerning lack of professionalism. Rather than apologizing or offering to investigate the issue, he curtly advised us to “dispute it with your bank.”
It’s unfortunate that what began as a positive dining experience ended on such a disappointing note. The handling of this situation, particularly by management, reflected a disregard for customer service and accountability. So I am giving a one star to this restaurant solely for the manager.
We have submitted a dispute with our bank to recover the overcharge, and while we wish this had been resolved more amicably, we will not be returning to this establishment. Going forward, we’ll happily make the trip to Hernando to dine at Mr. Chen’s Kitchen, where customer service is taken more seriously.
We strongly recommend checking your receipt and bank statement if you choose to dine here. To make sure they don’t overcharged you like they...
Read moreMe and a friend meet here for lunch. Upon ordering my friend asked if anything on the lunch menu was cooked, the waiter informed her that everything that had shrimp or crawfish was cooked. So again my friend asked so it's hot because I don't like cold sushi? The waiter assured her that it would be so she ordered the lunch special . When the food came out my friend said this doesn't look cooked . The waiter replied again it was. When my friend tried each roll she said she didn't like them and that they were not cooked and asked the waiter if she could trade it for something else. The waiter said sure, which roll would you like? She order a new roll and before it came out the waiter asked would she like it to go? She said that's fine . We both noticed that it was not in a to go container but instead on a plate. Moments later the waiter came with the rolls she didn't want in a Togo container. The waiter says since you ate two pieces, we have to charge you. We asked why didn't you say that before you let her order a new roll. He couldn't explain so we asked to speak with the manager. Manager comes out , my friend tried to explain what happened the manager cuts her and says you ate two pieces my friend replies I tried both rolls because I thought they were cooked but they weren't and I'm new to eating sushi . The manager replies well this is not merchandise and this is how you learn real nasty and mean. Long story short we will never eat here again. The management is not right, so it's only a matter of...
