My family & I met up with some friends in town from Seattle for sushi. We walked in with another couple & stood around awkwardly for awhile waiting for someone to greet/seat us. A lady finally came out looking very irritated as soon as she saw us, cleaned a table off for us to put 2 together & took off to the back. While we sat there patiently waiting I could hear the Uber tablet going off & people were constantly coming in to pick up take out deliveries. I work in a busy restaurant & know that if you can’t handle the third party apps AND in house service, you can pause the tablets. This place, however, chose to ignore us, as well as the 2 other tables waiting patiently to pay & focus on packing up to go orders. After a crowd formed at the front & we had been ignored for at least 30 mins (not even exaggerating) I tried going up to the counter to see about ordering. The lady came out for a second, looked at everyone, including me & rushed to the back. Zero communication. So we decided to leave. As we were all walking out she said “sorry,” but my husband even said her sorry sounded like she was relieved that we were going. Worst service, actually NON-service ever!! Way to treat the people in person wanting to dine in...
Read moreYesterday we went for the first time after work for lunch ordered gyoza and sushi! The owner was rude, didn’t seem to want us there and didn’t have much of a personality! She took our order and brought out the gyoza, tasted like gyoza (ate it), she brought out the sushi and we were pissed, my boyfriend had rooting tuna (with brown spots) served to him. We refused to eat it or pay for it, paid for the gyoza and left. My boyfriend was furious the rest of the night & honestly I feel like turning them into the health department. No wonder you have the reviews they do and no one was in there. Would never go back (I remember trying eat there in the summer and it was really warm/no ac and we left! Imagine eating room temperature sushi in a warm restaurant while it’s warm...
Read moreI would love to recommend this place to people for the quality of food that they serve. The tempera batter was light crispy and hot. The bento box was huge and worth the price. My chicken katsu was excellent, and the beer is only $3.
However, the place is dusty filthy all around. The glasses have lots of mineral deposits on them, so I drank my beer out of the bottle because I didn't trust the cups. The tables are dingy and look like they haven't been turned over since the '80s. The service was also fairly miserable. I might pick up lunch to go here, but I don't think I'll sit down for a meal here again.
A little bit of attention to detail this could easily be one of Olympia's best restaurants. However, they are lacking an...
