Went for a visit for the 3rd time today. My first two experiences were lovely, and this time wasn’t bad, but we felt rushed by the staff. We enjoyed ourselves, but we only got to paint for an hour before staff asked us to hurry up and finish. We didn’t get to put the details into our projects that we were hoping to. I’m sure they will still turn out cute and we did enjoy painting, and had some delicious snacks and drinks. We came from out of town to have this experience so it was kind of a bummer to feel like we had to leave so quickly.

I understand that the weekends can be busy, which is why we made a reservation, and I definitely saw the staff working hard to keep up with the volume. We were there a total of 2 hours, it took about 30 minutes to get started because a few parties walked in at the same time as us, so we had 1.5 hours to paint. We definitely could have used another 30 ish minutes to put the finishing touches on that we wanted. I would love to see this business move to a larger space so they can accommodate more volume and longer paint times for guests. This experience aside I enjoy painting pottery here and the staff is always friendly. I will probably stick to small pieces next...

When we got to the Painted Plate we had great service. We took my Mother-In-Law from Hawaii there and we all had painted pieces. When we left we were handed our receipt with the date of the earliest date to come back and pick up our pieces. Our lives are super busy so we waited to come and pick up our pieces because we live in Federal Way. We went back to the Painted Plate to pick up our pieces and were told they threw them away. So you need to be aware that they throw your pieces away if you do not come pick them up within 30 days. We never got a phone call from them to tell us this, we were never told this when we checked out. Also, to pick up your pieces you do need a receipt. Again, this was not mentioned to us at check out either. Very frustrating driving from Federal Way to Olympia to find out we need a receipt. We were going to mail the plate my mother-in-law made to Hawaii in September for her birthday. Super sad over this situation and that we will not go back. I just wished the Painted Plate would have had better customer service and call us before they threw the pieces out. If our time was coming up, a reminder call would be have been...

This was probably the cutest place ever to go to with some friends! bummer it's in a place that's a little sketchy. We got there and it was a bit chaotic but that makes sense as it was a Sunday. We made a reservation the day before and they were happy to have us. They welcomed us in and gave us a little sheet of paper as a "shopping list" for the pottery we wanted to paint. We got a mountain mug, a little mushroom, and a jewelry dish. We were immediately met by a wonderful young lady named Katherine who helped us with what to do and how to do it. She allowed us to ask any questions and even offered drinks. The drinks we ordered were Pumpkin spice latte, caramel latte, and a Chai tea. I loved it. The only thing was that it took a little while to get our drinks but we were busy painting to actually notice. They refilled any paint bottles we needed and had us pick up are things when they were done a few days later. They turned out absolutely beautiful! The colors were gorgeously vibrant and shiny and so so so cool to display. I love painted plate. Such a perfect place for anybody who has an artistic and creative side. (which I believe everybody...

They even had their own coffee shop/cafe in here AND the City had the block shut down for a Winter Festival right outside of the studio 🖤 #thingstodoinolympia #thingstodoinolympiawa #creatorsearchinsights

I went to the Painted Plate for the first time. Poured my heart into my work for 2 hours. Then when I went to pick it up they said the side of it had touched the kiln and there was a little damage. There were FOUR big gashes in my figurine, they were each about 3/4 of an inch wide. You could tell they put some kind of putty in the damaged areas and reglazed it with clear glaze and refired it. It didn't help. It looks awful. And the gash on the top of it doesn't even have glaze on it, it's chipped off and the dry ceramic is showing through. They gave me a gift certificate for another figurine. But that does not pay for my 2 hours of time and it does not pay for my personal artwork that I put a lot into. They need to be more careful. If mine was hit in four different places it couldn't have just hit against the kiln, it had to hit other people's figurines too. So that means other people got damaged art work. This is their business! They're paid to not mess up people's artwork. They blew it!

Beautiful ceramic studio to paint your own treasure. I took my friend and her two girls (11 and 9) and we had a fun time picking colors and encouraging each other. The staff was very friendly (Meadow) and kept a very busy pace. While they did have a $22 per person special we chose our own projects so it was a bit more expensive ($130 - included our beverages and the ceramics [a tea mug, donut shaped keepsake box, unicorn bank and large plate] we chose). They provided all the paints and brushes and did the cleanup work. This weekend we can pick up our finished products (once they've been fired) and the kids can't wait. Definately recommend this (allow a couple hours) experience for family and friends!
