Schwartz's is a delightful addition to San Francisco's bakery shops; in downtown Olympia, nestled within three blocks, it offers another choice– there are three diverse options for bakery goods with a coffee shop ambiance. Each spot is unique, catering to different tastes, though I find myself appreciating aspects of all of them. As for Schwartz's in downtown Olympia, it is an inviting venue, albeit one I frequent slightly less often. It exudes the typical downtown Olympia vibe for a coffee shop, offering a smaller bakery selection than you might find at its flagship store or the farmer's market. However, it's a lovely place to have in the area. On my visits, I'm particularly fond of their choice to carry Batdorf & Bronson coffee—a personal favorite of mine, but I enjoy some other local coffee. Olympia is fortunate to have excellent coffee options; the barista often makes all the difference. Occasionally, I also pop in for a sandwich. Overall, Schwartz's is a beautiful spot for grabbing coffee, a bagel, a few pastries, or indulging in a sandwich.

Semi-busy Saturday afternoon and we stepped in to a packed Schwartz’s. Very chill atmosphere, not too many tables, all full, and several with the now common single person taking a table with a laptop and papers spread out. Oh, well, we took our sandwiches outside and enjoyed the people watching. Tasty lunch and the pickle! So good, so good. Almost forgot! Peek in the back and check out the almost hidden bookcase full of books! How many delis have one of those?

The first time I came, I wanted coffee to help curb a migraine. I called ahead, and I was able to get a coffee to go 15 minutes before close. Today, I got coffee and settled in to work. I noticed your barista helping a visually impaired lady sit down to enjoy her coffee. I commend you on having a great local business with a wonderful staff! I highly recommend this location to people for lunch, coffee, chatting, and friendly service.

I just had a very strange experience here. Walked in to a mostly empty place. One person behind the counter, leaning on the case, engrossed in her phone. I stand on the customer side, right in front of her, and she doesn't acknowledge me in the slightest. I peered into the case, as one does as they are making their selection. She still doesn't move. I step to the ordering spot. She still does not look up or disengage from her phone. Not wanting to reciprocate rudeness, I tap lightly on the counter. Still nothing. So I of course walk out. Bad...

I've overheard great things about the owner as a person in general. So, that is a plus to be in support of a business for.

They have good prices and I love their berry cream cheese pastries. I get more excited when I see them on the day old rack.

It feels like a very comfortable environment to socialize with a friend or partner in. (Not loud and Noisy)

Again,

The employees seem to appreciate their boss as a person. So, that makes me feel good about revisiting again and again to support a small business. (I think its a a small business)

Gabriel...
